Feature Requests Topic

Featured Replies

Hi Marteen, Eric and folks,

Maybe can we centralize in this topic the different feature requests for SLX?

I know the tool has already enough features and is  rich enough but you know... we always want more! ;-)

Map view should have legend showing distance scale at every zoom level.

Distances:

It already has a scale. The horizontal white bar above the scale on the bottom right of the map window.

Secondly, if you right-click anywhere on the map the distance is shown in the right-click menu.

Thirdly, you can show range rings, also through right-clicking on the map. The range rings distance is set in the menubar top-right.

Fourhly, there is a measure tool you can start and stop (menubar top-right). Click start and then left-click on the map to draw lines with distances showing.

I would like the ability to use an airport as a waypoint in a flight plan.

Other than the white bar I am aware of the others. Not what I am asking. A simple scale indicating the map zoom level and the relationship to a fixed distance - ie - 1 inch = 10 NM etc.

The white bar is the simple scale, with beneath it the distance that it represents.

"1 inch = 10NM" cannot be done because that depends on your monitor size and resolution. :)

You must be kidding right? ANY map that I have ever seen has a scale referencing the grid size as it equates to distance. Usually on lower left quadrant. When I get home I'll look for the white bar and see if it gives the info I am looking for.

If not, a scale will still be helpful as it relates to the grid size.

edit: don't have the program on this system but I have the manual - we are talking about the same thing. The white line references the grid and shows the distance and zoom level. I am so used to looking lower left that I totally missed lower right.

:) I am a happy camper!

ok - not THAT happy.  :)

Got home and running program

1) grid size does not change with zoom

2) No way to relate the "bar" of the white line to anything

3) in full map view - the "white line" does not show so is essentially useless.

Would like to have an option to manually enter airport codes for flight plan departure and destination instead of selecting from a drop down list.

Thanks,

Mike Cameron

Guys, Maarten is busy trying to fix the current features that do not work as intended and you start asking for more features? Come on people, let him fix everything first and leave the requests for later.

Alvega

Hi Alvega,

We don't ask for more, everyone here is already very grateful and happy with the app.

We just give ideas to improve the program later, without stressing anybody.

Mike,

On the Airport page, clic on the upper right  properties icon (with the Wheel) and change your Filtering Mode to FilterRow. ;-)

Vic,

The length of the white bar represents the distance on the map that is mentioned below the white bar, for instance 5nm.

My point Eric is that there is no grid or any other line that equates to it. I guess I could take a ruler and measure it and then hold the ruler up to the screen. A simple grid that scales to the size of the line as the zoom changes provides a fast reference. Without the grid the line is nice artwork but almost useless.
