Would these computer specs work well in fsx (thinking of building a custom pc)

 

Intel i7 3770K (3.5 Ghz 3.9 Ghz Boost)

Asus P8P67 Deluxe Motherboard

EVGA 760Ti 2 gb Graphics card

200gb SSD

8GB DDR3 Memory

850 Watt Power Supply

 

I am still deciding on a case, any recommendations are welcome

That will work just fine.

 

You can run the 3770K at 4.0 Ghz without any fancy cooling (that is what I do).

 

If you have the cash, I would go for a GTX770.. awesome card.

If it's just for FSX then you'd see more benefit from an i5 given their ability to run at higher clock speeds. 850w could as easily be 750w with plenty of power and less cost.

Are you buying those components new?

I am custom making it and in the future looking to get a second graphics card, i have the 750ti from a dell computer that couldn't run more than 300w. I also will look to overclock the i7 in the future with a water cooling system.

Bert what setup do you use for controls and what is your fps with something like the ngx with scenery

It depends what resolution youre running. I have a 2500k @4.7ghz with a gtx 770, 8gb ddr3 1866 CL9, SSD ran, and got low teens FPS during bad wearher scenarios using a Flytampa or FSDT airport in ORBX GLOBAL AND VECTOR. all of this in the NGX at 1440p resolution. Settings almost maxed and 2xSGSS

I have a CH Products USB Yoke, and Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals.

 

As far as fps, I have my system locked at 30 and keep things so that I can maintain the 30 in all situations.  Do not have the NGX installed, so cannot comment on that..
