July 27, 201510 yr You get to watch your wings move up and down now, Dillon. Meanwhile, back in adult land.... This along with the other issues addressed needed fixes. Settling for an unfinished product might work for some but not all. Now back to getting my credit card ready for purchase when SP1 get's released. July 27, 201510 yr I agree it s great to see the amount of work put in the 747 and still on the 737. I am highly hopeful to be able to take them both out of the hangar for a ride. It s great that FS9 still gets provided with great addon. However a comment if I may: i am a bit surprised that they released the 747 considering the amount of changes that will occur in the SP... Same for the 737: still some fixes after... 3 years? Anyway it s never too late to do well. Thanks iFly.
July 27, 201510 yr Because all developers make the mistake of sending add-ons to beta testes with external models. So beta testers spend their hours checking the 'pretty graphics' and how it will look on screen shot forums or criticising the engine blades wrong shape - omg - instead of testing the autopilot capability or whether the VOR frequency is correctly displayed or FPS or...etc etc etc etc. If they did that, SP1 would only contain un-important things like wing flex, and external stuff that mean nothing from a 'pilots seat' perspective. Jon, with all due respect you are way off base with your assessment of what Beta Testers do and what goes into Beta testing... WAY off base! Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
July 27, 201510 yr Too busy checking out the fluffy clouds as they float past? Again, with all due respect, your attitude and demeanor on these forums has changed drastically. 90% of your posts now are antagonistic and insulting to other forum members. You have become defensive and a lot of your posts flat out come across as rude. I do not know if you have things transpiring outside of the forums contributing to this but your manners within the forum have all but been lost. Heaven forbid someone belittles FS9 yet you constantly belittle other sims and simmers. The hypocrisy has gotten out of control. How many times do you post how bad all the other sims are, OOM's, VAS etc etc etc. Sad because you used to be very positive and enthusiastic. Perhaps some time away from the forums? We all need it from time to time.... Not to mention if you had any idea the hundreds of hours of their own time Beta testers give up, the thousands of emails we dig through, the constant hours trying to chase down a bug or a change, you just have no clue. Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
July 27, 201510 yr I tend to agree with you Jon. Sometimes I wonder why addon developpers could not start from freeware external models which already look perfectly great and focus on dynamics and system modelling. Maybe because it s not a perfect world...
July 27, 201510 yr Product features are determined by the developer, not by the testers. They test what 'is in'. What happened to AVSIM
July 27, 201510 yr Sometimes I wonder why addon developpers could not start from freeware external models which already look perfectly great and focus on dynamics and system modelling. It doesn't work like that anymore. The model/panel/gauges/systems/sounds/FDE are all linked together now. Really you need a team working on all at the same time..... with each member ideally having some idea of what the others do or can do. IFLY should definitely be commended for their 1st rate support of their products. My FS Videos
July 28, 201510 yr lol, i thought 'jon_aus' was banned for having multiple accts on avsim. mod caught on pretty quickly when multiple accts parroting the same thing over and over, ad nauseam.
