Global AI Ship Traffic FSX and P3D News and Support

Yeah sort of, I would just prefer to keep my ai seperated from the other boats in the boats folder. So a \simobjects\ai boats would make it a lot easier to keep track of them (at least for me).

Apparently it doesn't work, I made the folder  \simobejcts\AIBoats and copied all the ai boats into it, and scenery.bgls into scenery\world\scenery, effects into the effects folder and sound effects into sound folder.

Added it in my P3D.cfg:

SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\Airplanes
SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Avatars
SimObjectPaths.10=SimObjects\Misc
SimObjectPaths.11=SimObjects\Submersible
SimObjectPaths.12=SimObjects\Weapons
SimObjectPaths.13=SimObjects\Countermeasures
SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft
SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\UT2+ Aircraft
SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft_before_09_2015
SimObjectPaths.5=Aerosoft\Mega Airport Zurich V2.0\simobjects
SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\Rotorcraft
SimObjectPaths.7=SimObjects\GroundVehicles
SimObjectPaths.8=SimObjects\Boats
SimObjectPaths.9=SimObjects\Animals
SimObjectPaths.14=SimObjects\AIBoats
SimObjectPathsRemarks=These entries were automatically added from SimObjects.cfg by Migration Tool. Set RepairConfig=0 in MigrationTool.cfg to disable.
User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter, Submersible, ExternalSim, Avatar

Set the ai slider in display\traffic to 10%, but no ai ships anywhere.

I tried the 2.5 fix using 3.1 and it totally killed my textures. Not sure why. I had a recurring problem with FX_2.bmp which caused ctd. Fortunately I had backed up textures and when I put the old ones back the problem went away, but - scary moment.

the "boats" are amazing though.

I will be going back through the corrupted textures folder to see what works and what doesn't.

I have just seen an anomaly in The Solent (between the English south coast and the Isle of Wight). This is in P3D v3.1 (updated client software). It appears to have been a ship called the Bulk Brasil, although when I slewed to the ship after I had landed (at Bembridge on the Isle of Wight), it looked perfectly normal. The bow of the ship seemed to elevate more and more as I moved slightly closer to it when on left downwind for runway 30.

I have networked multiPC setup based on P3Dv3.1 using three computers as client for panoramic scenery view and one computer as Server with the help of WideView Program. I have recently installed Global AI Ships packages in recommended order on the Server as well as Client computers. After installation, the ships included in the packages appear correctly in the Master as well as all three Client computers. The problem is that the Wake Effect is showing only on the ships of Server computer. On Client computers, although the ships appear as in the Server Computer, but the Wake effect is missing. I have installed Wake Fix for P3Dv2.5 but no success. Is there anything which can be done to resolve this issue ? Can you please mention which files and parameters generate Wake effect so that I may compare files installed on Server PC with those of Client computers ? Do .bgl files have any relation with this issue ?

I ran it all again - vertical wakes again - but the "P2.5" fix works with P3D v3.1 and all seems fine now. Great add-on!

The bgl's have nothing to do with wakes - wakes are called by the sim.cfg in the folders of each ship. The parameters for each wake are described inside the effect, but shouldn't really be an issue if it runs on one of your screens. I have no experience with multipc set-up so unfortunately I can't help you on that.

Is everything OK with the P3D v3.1 water set to HIGH?

Yes, normally from what has been observed until now it solves the issue.

Scrap my post above.  Whilst I have scanned my whole FSX install using AIFP and converted all my WOAI files to FSX file format it appears now my AI traffic has defaulted to stock aircraft.

After a quick Google it appears FSX will only display default AI aircraft if it detects even one single FS9.BGL file in my installation.  Strange thing is I have scanned my WHOLE folder for FS9 files after conversion to FSX and it says "none found"?

I would much prefer to have real aircraft as opposed to AI ships so I have reverted the BGLs to the original WOAI files.  Obviously I want both...

Any ideas?

I posted this on page 40 but I am no further on and I would love to get it working. After converting my WOAI files using AIFP I have scanned my entire C, D and F drives for fs9 traffic files and AIFP says NO FILES FOUND. After conversion my issue is I can see all the custom ships but I'm left with default AI. If I put my original FS9 WOAI files back I lose the ships but have custom AI. Some help previous suggested I havent scanned all folders but I definitely have.

Can anyone help me further?

Thanks

Hi Thomas,

Where do you have your WOAI files after conversion? Scenery/world/scenery? Where do you have the Ai ship traffic files? Scenery/world/scenery? Both can/should normally be in the same place.

Best regards

Henrik

Yes both my converted WOAI files and the AI ship files live in \scenery\world\scenery.

Just thought of something, after conversion in AIFP all my WOAI files were tagged with _FSX.BGL to distinguish themselves from the original FS9 files. Could it be I have to remove the FSX tag from each of my converted WOAI .BGL files. I'm thinking WOAI won't recognise them if they been renamed?

That should not make a difference - mine have that as well; but I suppose you accepted to delete or moved the FS9 files?

Does post #4 of the linked thread below have any bearing on the problem with ULTRA water setting?

Henrik, do you have a suggestion to why my ships not showing up, Do they have to be in simobjects\boats or is it ok to put them in a new folder called \simobjects AIBoats?

Can any of the following lines be the problem?

SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft
SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\UT2+ Aircraft
SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft_before_09_2015
SimObjectPaths.5=Aerosoft\Mega Airport Zurich V2.0\simobjects
SimObjectPathsRemarks=These entries were automatically added from SimObjects.cfg by Migration Tool. Set RepairConfig=0 in MigrationTool.cfg to disable.
User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter, Submersible, ExternalSim, Avatar

The funny part is I DON'T have and never HAD UT2 or Aerosoft Zurich installed, and I don't even have the migration tool, so where do these entries come from?
