"No new FS This year, say MS"

Featured Replies

I would think this would be news on a lot of FS related web sites. I may have looked in the wrong area but did not see any thing on thr MS FS web site. Makes me want to see some verification before I think about it anymore, spending my time trying to figure out why I cant land in zero visability at KTEX and KASE, LOL.Take care.

quoting unnamed sources can be very foolish, as Newsweek has just found out. Sometimes they are correct and sometimes not. UNTIL and only UNTIL someone in authority from MS states there will/won't be a release -it's all speculation. I wouldn't change any of my plans based upon it.Just MHO,Visit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

You won't be sorry. I just upgraded from an Athlon 3000+ / Radeon 9700pro / 1 gig pc3200 / Audigy Gamer / to the system below. I'm loving FS right now. Keep the great addons coming. I agree. FS9 is keeping me happy enough and with the idea that the next version has more time to become better, is worth the wait.Kilstorm

All one has to do is look at AVSIM's annual demographic survey and that should answer any question about XBOX vs PC and who the target market for FS is. Not to mention the addons. Don't know much about XBOX so not sure if we would be able to use addons in FS on XBOXDave---------------------------------------------------System Specs:Athlon64 3500+ ClawHammerECS NForce4 A-939 Mobo (1g FSB @ 2.3mhz)1.5G of OCZ Performance PC3200 RamATI Radeon X800Pro PCI-E (Catalyst 5.5 @ 520/540)SoundBlaster Live 24bitSaitek Cyborg EvoWinXP SP1

You're probably spot on, Doug! It may help to clear a few things off JustFlight's shelves, eh ;-)And as for stopping speculation .... look at all these posts :)Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

People who are worried FS will be on the XBOX ONLY - Don't be, there is no reason to be so worried. MS will not abandon the PC users. Some XBOX 360 games published by M$ are comming out on the PC as well...Here is a quote from Microsoft's J Allard for a popular XBOX 360 game (Gears of War) which will come out on the PC as well;"J Allard: I always get back to the gamers. Every decision we make is really focused on what the gamers want. A ton of our gamers are dual gamers meaning that they have PC and console because they prefer some aspects of PC"so as you can see, M$ is totally aware of what users want...No need to get your panties in a twist. LOL...

I agree--I've said in other posts that Xbox will open up a new market for casual users who don't use PC's, and an upgrade path so such users can migrate to the PC if they want a more powerful and open sim. And, there's a number of us who I expect will want to revert to the Xbox during times we're "downstairs with the family" or when we want to see MSFS come to life on the big HDTV. If Microsoft is using a cross platform compatible language, there likely won't be much extra effort (and development costs) for both sims--but a much larger market. That's all I want to say--I don't think it's a topic to argue as anyone else's thoughts are probably just as valid as mine. But this is the premise I'm going with and thus I won't be worried about any demise of the MSFS PC franchise.-John

I think you got it right. MS can't afford to waste more time and effort in 32-bit tech. Hail the new chief (64-bits tech). And finally, there will never be a transfer of FS to Xbox. The new FS

I always thought they should be atleast 4-year intervals. It seems the best add-ons arrive just in time for the new FS to come out at the 2-year intervals. Can you imagine if they did the same with Windows? *shudder*----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have. This actually makes me very happy. I've got too much time and money invested in the current version, so I'd hate to have another come out so soon.KP

FROM THE JUST FLIGHT FORUM=================================Finally, a bit of news. Lets shine some light on this subject that has caused, arguements, disputtes and even locked topics. Well please stand at ease everybody.I just got a bit of information from 'PC Pilot magazine' I'm not going to say to much, but if you want more information go out and buy it

I still can't see anything on Microsoft's site about this.
