February 7, 201511 yr Just for fun I tried to match X-Plane with UHD Mesh enabled to a photo I had taken some years ago on vacation. Go ahead and guess which the real one is ... just kidding . I may not have nailed the exact same spot but I think it's pretty accurate. Camera NIKON D70 Focal Length 35mm Aperture f/8 Exposure 1/200s Wow!!! The scenery looks breathtakingly realistic! With the use of MaxxFX, SMP and some tweaked art controls, you could even make the lighting situation and colours look very close to the real world!
February 7, 201511 yr The rascal OS was causing the crash, I reinstalled W7 and now will run XPX with UHD Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
February 7, 201511 yr Tried the flight @LFLP. Loading time was hilarious. was getting between 10-15 fps. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
February 7, 201511 yr This is heading West from LIME. It's still flyable. Though the CPU / GPU goes pretty high. Loading time was very long and it has made the system quite heavy. Task Manager X plane Memory usage is 5 GB. HDR / FXAA ON. Objects is to Mega tons . Clouds 10% using FSrealWX and Experimental Clouds from .org. Shadow is Static . No traffic , Trees / Roads Extreme , Water to Complete hmmmm and what else ? The system is : AMD FX 6300 - 3.5 Ghz 8 GB DDR3 HD 7750 2 GB DDR3 Acer 20" 16:9 Load time may depend on W2XP scenery and also the HDD. This is on a 160 GB which is also kinda crash crash and the performance is not that great atm. Now can we get BC PLEASE Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
February 7, 201511 yr Are there any graphics card thats capable of powering X-Plane with mods? I feel like my GTX-760 is drowning.... Brynjar Mauseth
February 7, 201511 yr I'm running a GTX 970 Superclocked card and get around 40-50 fps during normal flight with UHD mesh installed. I do not have my settings the same, however. Trees-filled, roads-tons, cars-Siberian, water minimum (I don't see much gained with high water settings), single 1920x1200 monitor, SkyMaxx Pro 2 clouds. I also have a very fast CPU (4.8GHz o/c) and a new mobo with optimum CPU-GPU bus transfer rates. Yes, loading times are very long for UHD areas, but it is well worth the wait. Once loaded, I'm not seeing much fps hit, if any. But in general, you need to design a system all at once so things work together. Throwing a video card at it may not allow a new card to work at top efficiency if your bus speeds are the bottleneck. Lots of good advice in Ben Supnik's blog on the other web site. i7-4790K o/c @ 4.8 GHz, Corsair H-110 liquid cooler, 32 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, MSI Maximus VII Hero mobo Samsung Pro 512 GB SSD Corsair GFX Hydro GTX-1080 8 GB, (2) 4TB hybrid HDs Win 10 (1607), X-Plane 10.51r2 and X-Plane 11.01b1
February 7, 201511 yr @mdavis, Can you loan me that card ? I promise to return it after a couple of years , scout's honour. wow 50-60 with UHD sounds so good. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
February 7, 201511 yr Well, I don't have everything slammed. Texture Resolutions is Very High, not Extreme. Some of my other settings are middle to high. I use SkyMaxx for clouds which might help a bit. I'm not after framerates, I just want a nice, smooth flight. And I'm still tweaking and experimenting with settings to see what I can get away with, and what isn't worth the framerate hit (water is one of them). i7-4790K o/c @ 4.8 GHz, Corsair H-110 liquid cooler, 32 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, MSI Maximus VII Hero mobo Samsung Pro 512 GB SSD Corsair GFX Hydro GTX-1080 8 GB, (2) 4TB hybrid HDs Win 10 (1607), X-Plane 10.51r2 and X-Plane 11.01b1
February 8, 201511 yr Been flying around Chamonix, I know that part of the Alps quite well. Fantastic! FPS is OK, around 20-24. I've got 32gb memory and a 6GB VRAM card. Great job alpilotx as usual! Thank you! Torfi
February 8, 201511 yr NE of LFLP. This is stunning the mountain range just cannot decide it's real or a sim. BTW HOW DO I GOTO VADUZ ?? Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
February 8, 201511 yr BTW HOW DO I GOTO VADUZ With no airports in Liechtenstein, you can't actually get a flight to Vaduz directly. Travellers usually arrange to fly to the Zurich International Airport (airport code: ZHR) Copied from a travel website. John John Wingold
February 8, 201511 yr With no airports in Liechtenstein, you can't actually get a flight to Vaduz directly. Travellers usually arrange to fly to the Zurich International Airport (airport code: ZHR) Copied from a travel website. John John Thanks. nearest is LSZR. But for me does not work because 5 mins of flight and a CTD guess the 8 GB is coming to play. Guess I will let go. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
February 8, 201511 yr This is the best part. If I t/o from LSZR (ON THE AMD DESKTOP) I will get a CTD 5 mins in to the flight. But on the laptop it goes past the point and keeps flying although a bad fps. this is strange The desktop is Oc'ed to 4.0 and the laptop is UnOc'ed to 1.4. This one is from the laptop Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
February 8, 201511 yr tadah I reached Vaduz from Zurich. It is a SE route around 140 . I could have tried from LSZR which is just half the distance from Zurich but it just CTD's at one exact point moments after departure. this is on the AMD desktop. So it's better to get an Intel CPU for Flight simulation because of lotsa calculations which the AMD does not manage to well. FPS wise it's 15 and not bad. I see both CPU / GPU going a bit high but a lovely sight around very nice. Add to the UHD + W2XP that would be something. It's a scenic. I would have loved to have bad weather but the rascal GPU is on the lower end so I will loose around half the fps. And also Real Terra Haze hurt the GPU. The GPU does HDR very well with FXAA as I have not noticed any difference with that switched off. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
February 8, 201511 yr Fantastic work! Will be downloading this shortly. As has been mentioned earlier, I am glad I invested in 16gb of DDR3. Once again, great work! Cheers!
