You can get a freeware call XplaneAddonsManager that allows you to move up and down scenery or even temporary disable them.

Now if we could just turn the Colorado River to Campbell-soup-red as it really is ....

And if that's all I can find to criticize it, then it's worth the price.    I hope everyone remembers that it is donationware.

Great job, and thanks!!

Renaming the folder to auhd instead of uhd seems to work, but this does as well.

Exactly, several ways to skin a cat as they say.  I named my UHD scenery folder zz_uhd....v1 (note only two z's) so it would automatically sort above the zzz_hd...v3 folder.

I cannot run it on the desktop straight crash in a second when I start XPX.  The problem is my one HDD has crashed which was for XPX so I copied the backup to the other HDD and put the Alps UHD straight in Global. But a crash and the log  shows nothing.

Will try again once i get back from work.

I am using it the same way on the laptop.

It could be a XPX issue. I doubt it is an UHD issue.

Running the Alps (UHD) on 8 GB RAM might really be a bad idea ... especially if you end up having X-Plane (especially the Custom Scenery) on the same HDD which Windows uses for swapping ... this might ask for ultimate pain.

Andras,

I know about the 8 GB :P I am just trying it.

BTW Windows is on the 80 GB , and the original XPX was on a 320GB which went kaput last night. The other HDD is a 160 GB is where I have copied the backup.

It loads on the laptop of course not good FPS because of the 8 GB RAM

I'm really enjoying this UHD scenery.  I took the Ramzzess 777 from LIMF to EDDM across the beautiful alps last night...I know it's not a realistic flight but I was trying out Pumper's new cockpit textures and admiring the beautiful scenery.  I haven't touched P3D for a few days now  .

I flew up the Grand Canyon for just a few minutes last night.  Wonderful.  It took me two days to download all the U.S. UHD mesh by torrent but I can handle it easily once I get my hands on it - doesn't make a dent in my 4TB drive.  It does give a framerate hit but I have enough overhead that it doesn't matter.  No time for this - I'm going flying ...

Just for fun I tried to match X-Plane with UHD Mesh enabled to a photo I had taken some years ago on vacation. Go ahead and guess which the real one is ... just kidding . I may not have nailed the exact same spot but I think it's pretty accurate.

With this UHD Mesh...isn't that incredible?   Just how I felt, in my first flight over the edge of the Grand Canyon!  It looked real...felt real...and that is that, as they say.  How cool though would it be, if you could (with photo in hand...) start to alpha blend and contrast/brightness the screen output to have what you would see in your hand, to as-close-as-you-could-get-it.....to the output now upon the screen.  Wouldn't that be something!  Andras has nailed it with this mesh. If you had UHD to cover the entire XPX world....it would simple be amazing..... Simply, amazing.  I can't stop flying around PAWD....and Arizona...within XPX.  I am having a field day.  I just wish that I could physically go beyond my already installed 12 Gigs of system memory.  I now know that for the first time ever...I would actually be using a load in of 32 G's or more...but my motherboard stops at 12 GB.  I still get great 15-infinity FPS from the ALPS to Montana....so have no reason to complain.  I'm just enjoying the flights....  My final comment...is that I am FLOORED....with what 3rd party, talented and dedicated people are pulling out of the XP Franchise.

SkyMaxx Pro (hope that UrbanMaxx gets an uplift....!) is also another Dev, that has now filled the sky with prime eye-candy and satisfaction.  I used to think of XP as the sort-of...orphaned  player, stuck out in a minor league...hoping to make the majors.  Well guess what....that player is now in the major running Big Leagues....and not looking back....  Seward, (thank you again to the Dev for this wonderful release!!!!!!) looks real, 'feels' real below you....and especially when you can roto-chop and hover to really 'get in there'...and look around....

Same for Arizona's Grand Canyon....this UHD 'version' really should be seen from the right seat of a chop.....to really get into the canyon(s)...and so to enjoy the towering cliffs...in UHD...above, and surrounding you.....dang.....simply first rate!

MILAN 6 fps wow

But Task Manager reports only 3 GB used for XPX.  CPU and GPU horrible 0.200 0.150

Almost as good as Flight Simulator v1 in 1983

Oh ya, but in Monaco 15 fps i am surprised why

The crashing looks like an OS issue. Because the same runs on the laptop. Guess I will have reinstall W7 on the desktop.
