Excellent 182RG

Featured Replies

I'm supprised I haven't seen any mention of it as of yet, but Carenado released their Cessna 182 Skylane RG-II. I picked it up last night. Excellent plane. Sound is particularly good. Great VC and externals. Flies great too.Dave---------------------------------------------------System Specs:Athlon64 3500+ ClawHammer @ 2.3mhzECS NForce4 A-939 Mobo (1g FSB)1.5G of OCZ Performance PC3200 Ram (Dual Channel)ATI Radeon X800Pro PCI-E (Catalyst 5.5 @ 540/560)SoundBlaster Live 24bitSaitek Cyborg EvoWinXP SP1

Going to check that one out. I could use another high-wing Cessna single. After all, I only have the 152, 172SP, 172R, 177, 177RG, 182, 195, 206, 208 and 210 :-lol

Got it last night as well. Usual good quality from Carenado with a reasonable price. There's not a huge difference from the DF Cardinal RG, but I guess I'm a sucker for anything single engine GA. :-)

Hi what's the virtual cockpit like for fluidity of gauge movement? and is there much of a difference between this one and their 210 model? There's only one pic of the plane on the carenado site!

Off to complete the collection of Cessna's.... I should get a support group for all this great payware. :DKev

Beta tester for SIMStarter

Hello everyone. I purchased the 182RG this morning. One word............AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Go get it!!!! It is worth every penny. Excellent 2D and Breathtaking VC. Gauges are VERY smooth. Night effect on panel in VC with landing lights on is great. If you lower the flaps at higher speeds, the balloon effect is, well...don't lower at higher speeds! I am sure this is the way the real AC is, as Carenado said it is tested by real pilots. Carenado did a fantastic job on this one! Sounds are great as well. A bad storm is approaching so I have to go. I will check in later. Best regards, Jeff

I havent bought a GA plane yet. I've been too busy using PMDG 737NG and the Eaglesoft Citation X along with the nice King Air 200 made by Aeroworx. Who makes an outstanding GA aircraft, single engine that is. The Carenado Beech looks good...remarks?thanks,

Hello, If it is a beech you like, I think the Carenado is great, (I own it) but at the time it was released, flight simulation was not as far advanced as it is now, so it is a little behind the times. A great AC however. I would highly recommend the Dreamfleet Beach A36 just recently released. It has all of the newest features available for FS. The A36 also comes with the garmin package (Reality XP) at no additional cost. that by itself makes it a good choice. I love Carenado's work, but again their version is alittle older. The beech from carenado also has the throw over yokes which are long gone. If you want more of a classic go for that. I think you would be happy either way. If you can get both, you will have the best of both worlds. Good luck. Best regards, Jeff
