Excellent 182RG

Absolutely outstanding aircraft - I love it. Of course, there's a little extra "glow" for me since it's the first aircraft I've flown on my new PC.

>I like Carenado's attention to>subtle eye candy like rivets, bolts, streaks of dirt, etc... It's the reason I purchased this plane. I didn't really need another Cessna, but happen to admire the artistic graphic quality of Carenado's aircraft. Since I flew R/C for so many years, in addition to "full scale", I fly spot view probably 50% of the time, and the outside really does matter! :7 L.Adamson

Hello everyone, It has been a few days since the release of this fine bird. I have a question. Did anyone notice that if you go to tune Nav2 radios in the VC the numbers don't change, but if you hit the swap button, you can see the change made? It only seems to work in 2D. Anyway, not a big deal. The main thing that gets me is there is NO mention of the release on any of the Flight sim sights. I have never seen this before. I wonder why? I would think this would hurt the sales for Carenado. All of their other products have gotten mention in the past. I also noticed that their banner has not been on AVSIMS home page. This is puzzling me. I even noticed over at Flight1 on their partners page, the 182 is not mentioned there, or at any other flight sim website. This doesn't affect me at all, but I was curious. Any clues anyone? Best regards, Jeff

I haven't noticed the Nav 2 bug you describe. I'll have to check it out.I have, however, noted the lack of publicity for this release on the major flightsim sites. (In fairness, Carenado's own news page doesn't mention the release, either! :D) It is odd, but you can't keep a good aircraft like this from escaping notice, as this thread proves.I'm already eagerly looking forward to Carenado's next release. Personally, I'm hoping it'll be another installment in their line of Piper singles, specifically an Arrow IV, Cherokee Six, Lance II (yes, I'm a sucker for T tails :() or Saratoga.

Moss1 Francois over at Simflight answered your question about the lack of public mention of this release below when it was raised by a fellow simmer:"Carenado said they wanted to sell it on their own site for a few days, just to make sure there were no unexpected problems. That is also why they have not officially annoucned the availability yet.... we have held off with the news for that reason too.Should be available soon... I have been flying the aircraft for two days and have found no problems."Guess any bugs we find will get fixed before the official release... :-roll

>Guess any bugs we find will get fixed before the official>release... :-roll I suppose if anything is changed for the "official" launch, a patch will be released for people who bought the aircraft before then.*Crosses fingers*

Just checked the Nav 2 in the VC. You're right, the numbers don't change during tuning, only after you swap the active and standby freqs.

Sent Carenado an e-mail about the Nav 2 thing. Anyway, the announcement of the release is at the top of the news updates on Avsim's main page right now.

I haven't bought the 182RG yet, but I don't doubt at all that the FDE is top-notch. I noticed the realistic sounds and flight dynamics already with their Cherokee 180F which was exactly like the real thing according to my experiences.

Trying to purchase, but getting such a strange error:We are sorry, your order cound not be proceced.Error: No existe cliente en la base de datos. [resumen2.php3 (55)]I simply created an account, then tried to log in and now getting the same message all the time.Sad :(

I was having that issue when I was accessing their site with Firefox. I temporarily switched to IE and all was fine. Not sure if was just a coincidence or not, but might be something to try.

I found I had to empty the shopping basket, reset the Cache and restart Netscape.. there may also be a cookie.. they seem to remember the contents of your shopping basket between sessions..

I got it bought now on another PC. A very very nice plane! :)

The Carenado aircraft are usually so well tested before initial release that it is usually only a couple of things that need fixing if any, don't ever recall one for the cherokee 180F? but there was a small fix for the mentor T34. i haven't tried the nav2 thing yet but am sure they will sort it.
