June 7, 200520 yr This 182 probably has the best panel I've ever seen for FS2004. I love the classic avionics mixed and matched too. The graphics on the 2D and VC panels are incredibly crisp and clear - even at 1024x786 resolution! External model is great, overall an awesome addon and I'm willing to say it could top the Mentor for Carenado's best!
June 7, 200520 yr I spent about 14 hours doing my cfi training in one over last xmas.Jumping into this was pretty amazing-instant deja vu-the sights, sounds, feel and handling-right on. Great job and great value!http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
June 7, 200520 yr Bought it yesterday, and am REALLY enjoying it. It really is amazing.Well done to Carenado, another superb model!
June 7, 200520 yr I've only just started flying it, but I am really impressed! The very first impression was not the best, since I personally do not like the popup panels with yellow borders and the inconsistent clickspots / tool tips... but once I got past that...The landing panel is amazing and the VC is extremely well done as well as very fluid.. The outside model is just beautiful...I really like the NAV gauge when handflying an ILS approach. This plane is going to be a lot of fun to fly! Bert

June 7, 200520 yr I've got to chime on one this as well. I've been wanting the 182RG back in FS since Microsoft discontinued it after FS2k2 (now let's hope a payware Learjet 35A returns with all the bells and whistles of the latest technology)... Anyway like I said I've wanted something like this for a long long time...In comes Coronado and boy have they delivered. This bird hands down flies better than the Flight1 172 everyone has been raving about (The Coronado 182 actually slightly surpases the Flight1 172 visually in many ways). Everything on this bird is top notch to say the least... :-eek It's about time someone did justice to the Cessna's FDE in FS2k4. RealAir released an updated flight model for the default birds a little while back which many claimed was a benchmark to go by for this class of aircraft but Coronado knocked it out the ball park (stalls, spines, etc.). Gauges look to me on the level of RealAir as far as smoothness goes (that's not a final assessment by no means)... Inside and out this bird is gorgeous to say the least and screenshots don't do this bird any justice. Coronado went a step further with this release that surprised me; They brought back the old livery of the 182RG that was included on the default bird in FS2000/02 (nice, very nice... They took the time to remind us what Microsoft let out in this incarnation of Flight Simulator)...The Coronado 182RG is hands down the best aircraft in it's class released for FS2k4 to date. No other Cessna in this class released for FS2k4 can touch it (that goes for Flight1 as well)... :-hah :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy The only downside is the landing gear sounds. On the real bird you barley if at all hear the landing gear extending or retracting. I had to lower the sound considerably for a more realistic effect... :-( FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
June 7, 200520 yr She gets a big thumbs up from me as well! :-hahI love my V-35B and never really liked Cessnas (prefering Pipers)but this a/c is lovely and I know I will enjoy many GA flights in her!regardsEd http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/115553.jpgAMD Athlon 64 3500+, 1024Mb PC3200 DDR, 300Gb HD 128Mb DDR Nvidia 6600GT PCI Express, Audigy 2 ZShttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/118889.jpg My FS Videos
June 7, 200520 yr I'm having the same trouble. Looks like there is something wrong with their website and I've tried it on three different computers.

June 7, 200520 yr Got it, and love it! You cannot go wrong with Carenado. :D Now they just need to get their Piper Tomahawk updated for FS9! :D
June 7, 200520 yr nice to see thay have resarected the old 182 RG from earier version of flight sim. sweet plane :)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/118894.jpg
June 7, 200520 yr Just got her and WOW. I think I just found my new favorite add-on.What a great job by Carenado. Everything about it is great so far!The VC is superlative. The VC guage refresh rate is VERY nice. The model is great. The sounds are very well done. The panel is very nice, I like the classic feel of it (of course I'm sure I'm going to have to slap some RXP and/or Simflyers gear in there :-lol ).Overall a VERY nice add-on so far at a very reasonable price point!Keep up the great work, Carenado!!! June 7, 200520 yr It is a great model. Gauges not as smooth as the SF-260 2005 but that one uses a completely different technique. They're still smooth and sharp. Interior textures are super-sharp and extremely realistic. Exterior model is great. I like how some paint schemes are more aged and weathered than others. Also try hitting the shortcut for tail hook and see what happens - talk about nice little details :)Only drawback, as someone else mentioned, is the sounds. Gear sounds like that old sound effect from FS98 and its RG. Also there's very noticable "cycling" in the engine noise at high RPM from the exterior view, but it sounds fine inside the cockpit. It doesn't blow the Flight1 C172 or DF A36 away but it's certainly in the same leauge. I still think the C177RG look more attractive as an airplane (because of the strutless design) but DF's model is starting to look a little dated. This one is also much better than the C210, the biggest improvements being gauges, sounds, and the fact that you can actually see out of this plane ;)As usual, except screenshots from me in the next few days :) -
June 7, 200520 yr Author There are always those who say........I don't care about scenery, I don't care about pretty graphics; all I care about is the flight model! And then there is me, who deeply cares about all three! Flight simming is an illusion, and all these items go hand in hand to create the sense of a flying virtual reality. As usual, the graphics artist's from Carenado have come up with another top notch looking airplane. The exterior detail is some of the best in the business, with lines, rivets, and paint schemes that look like real aluminum surfaces. The virtual cockpit is also one that you'd want to fly from instead of the 2D. Eye point is just enough ,ahead of the left door corner post, that it doesn't become annoying like some enclosed cabin VC's do.I havn't yet tried every aspect of flight model performance, but so far, it allows a nice solid right rudder feel through the takeoff and climb, and responds well to control inputs. In reference to the VC gauge animation, IMO it's a bit slower than the RealAir Spit/260 VC's, but yet very acceptable. Can't believe I bought another Cessna, but then I'm really into exterior graphics! I've always said............... "don't care how good it fly's, if it looks like a toilet paper roll with wings...":D L.Adamson --- also fly's from the "outside", because I can!

I don't see the point in flying something that doesn't look the part. Some say the panel is the most important, others the FDE, while others say the visual model. IMO, all are equally important (in fact, I'd prob. go as far to say the visual model might be slightly more important since many of us will never fly the real versions of these aircraft any time soon, if ever). Seriously, if an aircrafts max climb rate in real life is 1000 FPM and I'm getting 1100 FPM I could honestly give a rats fourth point of contact.I also like flying from the VC because in all honesty flying form the 2D totally ruins the game for me. This is why I look at my TrackIR as one of my most important flightsim investments. Flying from a 2D panel the whole time makes me think of the 1980's text based games. :-lolIf it wasn't for the viuals I don't think I would ever play this game. Heck, I don't think I would have ever started flightsimming in the first place. When I fly a Cessna, it better look like a Cessna and not a variation thereof with a "neato" panel.Flightsimming, IMO, should attempt to recreate all aspects of flight. Not just one while all the others fall by the wayside. As a true fan of flight simulators I would love to see a continuous increase in all areas of our chosen hobby, not just one or two. Continual progress brings new interest as well as increasing interest already present and ultimately everbody benefits.:) Ark -------------------------- I9 9900K @ 5ghz / 32GB G.Skill (Samsung B) / Aorus Master Mobo / EVGA GTX 2080Ti FTW 3
