June 23, 201510 yr Moderator Ideally all support issues should be kept on the official support forum anyhow. Out of respect for Avsim I will not link there If anyone would like to report any bugs then there is an official product support forum here. There's a chance if things are posted here, then they'll be missed by the developers or get buried amongst other posts. Of course all other discussions/questions about this product are still welcome here. any baby crying sounds for Airliners? will buy only if it has annoying babies crying How about everyone clapping when the plane lands and the sound of seat belts unclipping before the pilot has switched off the sign? ;-)
June 23, 201510 yr Just volume Mitch, we did EQ sounds for as much realism within the realm of X-plane. While engines are running only some sounds will be heard ....... We could of added gain so the ambient sounds penetrated more into the cabin but this sounded a bit unrealistic when we gave it a go...... Ok..I heard that...the outside view had great locality immersion, but as soon as I went back into the cockpit, it radically toned down. I did have my engine(s) running, so will now take a flight and shut down...to hear what comes through the wall. John...a great product...and having a blast with it. What a great idea to develop upon.... I will tell you though...the water immersion is my favorite. The water slapping against the hull or pontoons, the swirl of water in motion, that no other sim has, but now XP does, and other great marine immersions. I shut down the Skywagon near shore...and immediately, felt I was in the real world...with people near-by, enjoying the beach, the marine birds, the sound of water in action....spectacular! I thought when I was outside the plane I should hear noises from the airport? I just hear birds. You absolutely should hear the following: The sounds of aircraft at taxi around you...enough from each channel...that you will want to turn your head to locate 'the plane'. You will hear different sounds of throttle setting and the prop bite. You will hear fly-over's of different aircraft. You will hear people, birds, (depending where you are...rural, urban, near water). I have noted that certain sounds will come online at different airport ratings. I didn't have human sounds at one, but did at another. I have all of this...but if you do not...bring up all the sliders to their full right position...and go back to the sim. If you still do not hear what I am saying you should, for I have it...then I suggest that perhaps, you did not get a good plug-in installation. You should also hear inside the cabin...a very wonderful and low-key wind element that you know is just outside the hull...as well as fabulous run ups and run downs of turbine fans. I have all of this...so if you do not...then something is definitely wrong. It is there in the software. You also have air-frame shudder and turbulence sound bytes. I hope this helps...and BTW, try out this airport...you will hear plenty: CZNL (Nelson) in the mountains of B.C....alongside a finger that flows to a fjord. This airport is spectacular in FSX and P3D, with ORBX set to North America!
June 23, 201510 yr Hey Mitch try landing in the bush and changing the date and time of day.....we included different sound sets for day/ night & summer spring/ autumn winter..... Just saying....lol
June 23, 201510 yr By the "sound" of SM it has taken XPL to a new level. Thanks a million to all who made this possible. Alan Twiggys AOPA Member "All Things Aviation"
June 23, 201510 yr Hey Mitch try landing in the bush and changing the date and time of day.....we included different sound sets for day/ night & summer spring/ autumn winter..... Just saying....lol Really? C'mon....lol! Are you messin' wid me?
June 23, 201510 yr Very serious lol! Alrighty then....will chopper to some bush...and wait to hear... There had better not be any cougar sounds, as I camp, with the fire going....ya know? I ain't cougar food..... Post Edit, lol...well...I landed on this way-out-there farm strip...and heard lots of different bird calls....then fired up the engine...headed towards the grass strip...started my roll...and I swore, that I ran over a cat....the poor thing screeched its last meow.....ugly...ugly.... I'll have to check my undercarriage for fur....etc.... John...what would YOU expect me to hear...
June 23, 201510 yr At night in the summer-- crickets, maybe an occasional owl hoot......winter-- howling wind..... I'm trying to remember if the coyotes made the final cut.....
June 23, 201510 yr At night in the summer-- crickets, maybe an occasional owl hoot......winter-- howling wind..... I'm trying to remember if the coyotes made the final cut..... Well...you need to re-mix the barn-yard cat...uh..er...we...well...just because.... Just sayin.... ))))! Heard the crickets near a beach...as I was drifting just off-shore at dusk. Really nice...
June 23, 201510 yr John...right now, I am flying the flight path, that you see in my most recent pic. It is a windy day, at 3,500 feet...and I must say...that your wind noise as I move through the atmosphere..is the best sound representation that I have ever heard...it is not like a low 'white noise', or hiss...no...it has living dynamics...wow... It modulates, with the prevailing wind. This is a 100/100 score! What a fantastic sound capture....congratulations. I have ACCU-FEEL for FSX and P3D, to give me environmental sound effects...but this one...is WAY beyond, the wind-hiss/white noise representation, you get. Accu-Feel has great wave-water sound interaction...and is a good product on many points...but yours has advanced the sound of the wind whipping past the cabin walls. A2A, needs to update their product.....oh yeah.
June 24, 201510 yr I'm curious. Does this package get rid of that annoying brake screech that is default with X-Plane? Robert Yunque PilotEdge Ratings = CAT-11 (2016-09-13) I-11 (2016-10-23) V-3 (2016-08-01)
June 24, 201510 yr Moderator For the default C172, I noticed it didn't screech anymore. I don't know about the other planes, but one can hope :-).
June 24, 201510 yr Commercial Member You could simply put a silent wav into aircraft/sounds/contact, I guess it's skid*wav or turn it down with audacity etc. If there's one present in the aircraft it will override the one from x-plane/resources... To bad that I don't boot Windows anymore, otherways I'd have had a look at SM.
June 24, 201510 yr Moderator There's also a fix on the x-plane.org I believe, where someone did exactly this.
June 24, 201510 yr SoundMaxx fixes those shreeking brakes without having to fool around with individual files. That alone is worth the cost. Great job John. John (The other one) John Wingold
