January 18, 201610 yr Well I'm certainly glad I stumbled upon this thread.... I have been flying my Alabeo Cutlass with no GPS, wishing there was a way to connect my iPad mini to the sim.... Voila! Works perfectly with FSX, and P3D 2.5! I haven't tried it with FSX SE yet. I am stunned and amazed that I had everything already set up, but no idea that it would actually work together. Already had my Fltplan go app, already have an account there for real life flight planning. All I had to do was get the .exe program. THANKS A MILLION!! I can't even remember who posted this thread. I'd buy ya a six pack if you were here!!
January 18, 201610 yr Do you have more than one network? I do. My cable TV/DVR system is on one wifi net and my PC is connected to another. You must have both your FS PC and the tablet with FltPlanGo connected to the same network. I only have one network, but that is not related. I cannot get the PC app to connect to P3D, I've never even gotten to try to connect my phone to it. The little small app on the computer will not connect to the sim. As soon as it says connected and I see aircraft info, it disconnects within about a second or two. So frustrating.
January 18, 201610 yr As soon as it says connected and I see aircraft info, it disconnects within about a second or two. So frustrating. You see aircraft info? Are you doing the right steps? Open sim, set it all up to the point where you're ready to click "fly now" then open the .exe program, THEN click "fly now?" I haven't seen any aircraft info. It just says "connected" and an endless stream of messages sent to FSX. Then, it just works.

It says connected and then immediately says disconnected. I can try it 100 times, it just repeats that pattern. If I try to connect when fully loaded in the sim it will say connected and the airspeed/altitude and something else will display at the top for about 1 second before it says disconnected. I'm so sad!! I really want this sucker to work!!
January 18, 201610 yr Hi... Do you have FSUIPC installed ? I would imagine it probably uses this to extract the info - but - I'm only guessing... Did you run the "setup" that came with the download of the program from FltPlan ??? Regards,Scott
January 18, 201610 yr I don't think FSUIPC is required as I believe it uses SimConnect for the connection. carguy4471 make sure you're running the latest version of SimConnect. Todd

Todd If you'd be kind enough to let me know which version to look for and how to do that, I'd be forever in your debt!! Sorry, pretty new to sim mods.
January 18, 201610 yr Went ahead and downloaded the app for my iPad, installed the PC executable, loaded up FSX, and it worked like a charm. iPad app crashed once during a flight from KPIT to KIAD, but launched it again, and it picked right back up where it left off. Everything worked as advertised. Very cool, I must say! January 18, 201610 yr Hi Carguy, I'm not in front of my PC at the moment - I believe the simconnect files are all inside your main P3D installation - I think the folder is called "distribution" or something like that - then there are about (6) sub directories... (2) seem intended for other languages - however (4) have install files located in them that others have recommended to be installed... Run all (4)... You may have to dig through the subdirectories to find the install programs but it's not that hard... Hope this helps... Regards,Scott
January 18, 201610 yr I did this some time ago, just found them and run them. I'm not sure if they are the most current versions, they were just the files I found in there after I installed P3D. Will the files update when you run them?
January 18, 201610 yr HI... I believe so - but - I only recently moved from FS9 to P3D - so if you have any doubt maybe wait for someone else to confirm... Regards, Scott
January 18, 201610 yr Well I have three versions of simconnect installed. Doesn't seem to help any. Still the same.
January 18, 201610 yr Hey Carguy, What's your first name ??? I hate using logins... Anyway - couple more thoughts... I was having problems with my TrackIR with P3D which also uses simconnect to communicate... While troubleshooting - I was explicitly asked to load all (4) - so I'd try and locate and install same... I really don't think running them again will hurt anything... As I understand it - different products use different simconnects... The other thing - have you tried running everything as admin - as when I moved to Win10 that's pretty much a necessity for me... Right click on each icon that runs P3D and your FltPlan software - select "properties" then go to the "compatibility" tab and select the check mark to "Run as Administrator".... That's actually what fixed my TrackIR communications issue for me... Hope it helps... Regards,Scott
