Sounds like a good app but is it still available - I can't seem to be able to find it for my iPad?

Bill

Hi Bill,

Just checked - it's in the store - top left...

Search for "fltplan"...

Thanks Scott,

Must have done a 'man search' (as my wife would say if I look for something in the cupboard!). Will check again!

Kind regards,

Bill

Mystery solved (it wasn't in the cupboard after all!) - for anyone from the UK looking for this, it not available in the Apple UK App Store just in the US one and my account will not allow me to log on to this. Thanks for your help anyway Scott.

Bill

Has anyone recently used it on Android and connected to Prepar3D? The app loads fine but the installer for the PC quits on Windows 10 with a "the manifest may not be valid or the file could not be opened" error. Also tried in different compatibility modes but to no avail.

Hans

I am running it on windows 10, no trouble of that nature.

Did you get the installer from the fltplan website http://www.fltplan.com/fsx.htm? There is a fsx.zip file which I tried to install. Maybe there is another one or the installer is corrupt.

That is where I got it.  Extract the zip file and run the installer.  Try to find it in your installed apps first, if it's in there, uninstall and try again.  Worked for me.

Hi guys, I got everything up and running, I am just wondering if there is an easier way of making a flight plan on the web site. There is a lot of info you need to plug in, some of it I am not sure about, but I was able to make my first one and get it to show up on my IPAD app. Thanks.

Hi Perry,

On that web site keep in mind you are using real world flight planning. Could you give us some idea of what type of flying you typically do? VFR or IFR? General or commercial type aviation? Typical flight distance. Typical flight altitude, etc. We will see what we can do to streamline it for you.

Hi Perry,

Yep - what Frank said...

The best way to do it is build your FltPlan on the web site - then when you get to the second page - look at all the real world routings listed and look for an aircraft similar to what you're flying... Copy and use that routing - this works for IFR only flights... If VFR - go to a site like Sky Vector ( https://skyvector.com/ ) and build it manually... Since most people are striving for realism in their sim - this is how real world pilots do it...

Today's flight for me - from L35 (Big Bear/ORBX) high in the mountains to the East of LA - around the Edwards Airforce Base restricted area and up the Owens valley to KBIH (Bishop/ORBX) in Southern California... I planned and flew it as if I were doing it for real avoiding high rough terrain as much as possible... Flying the MilViz Cessna C310 (amazing aircraft) - VFR - with Dual GTN 650's installed... Due to the terrain I was up at 12,500 with scattered couds and a 65 knot wind out of the West - LOL - substantial crab angle most of the way... It was a beuatiful day for a flight with a few minor detours to stay clear of clouds - FlPlan Go just makes it that much more enjoyable... When everything works - P3D can be extremely realistic...
