  1. How would this work in conjunction with an orbx region?? Would the improved lighting still function if you are flying in an area you have a full orbx region?
  2. I got some good flights in the weekend. I flew both of my FSE aircraft back to the PilotEdge network area. I'm going to start conducting all of my FSE flight on PE, or at least most. I got surprised a few times by low lying haze and unexpected IMC conditions. Made for a few exciting approaches down to minimums, one actually a bit below.
  3. None actually. I only use ORBX regions, that's the only scenery I have. KSLC is outside of the orbx region, KJAC is inside the region.
  4. You get day"s" off?? I'm in the wrong line of work!!
  5. Short hop in the PC12 at sunset into Jackson Hole. Climbing out of Salt Lake. Sun starting to fall behind the horizon. Getting into the mountains, sun continuing to set. Last little bits of sun setting behind the mountains. The stealth PC12 almost overhead KJAC for the ILS outbound. Decending into the valley for the ILS inbound. And lined up on the ILS inbound to KJAC just after sunset.
  6. GTX970 and you are golden. I run an i5 660k and a 970 and get great performance in full orbx terrain regions with a2a, carenado and realair aircraft. I average 80-100fps in non orbs regions and 40-60 in orbx regions with medium settings. I'm sure I could choke my PC out if I dialed up the settings but I just went through and reduced them until everything was running great. Things still look wonderful.

  8. I've got one setup reasonably well. I finally figured out the difference between RND and DHM. I kept turning down RND and it was DHM that was bothering me. I have both set pretty low and an alright camera set. If you PM your email I can send it to you.
  9. I'm running the asrock z170 pro4s with the i6600k and a gtx 970, same ram you've selected as well. Pretty speedy little machine in my book. I can never afford the top o the line when I build so this put me in a good spot $$ wise and got me pretty solid performance.
  10. I have noticed the PC-12 doesn't autotrim under AP. Maybe that has something to do with it. I'll try trimming it up before engaging IAS.
  11. From the information I've been able to gather, the 6600 with OC at 4.6 with adequate cooling. I run the 6600 so far just at stock speeds. With a GTX970 I can run orbx regions with ASN, moderate settings and hold 30 fps in crap weather. With better weather or outside orbx regions I'm usually seeing 50+ fps. I know that fps is very subjective and heavily dependent on add ons and weather but thus far I've been very happy with my 6600 at stock speeds. I've been meaning to OC but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm only going to go for a mild OC but from what I've been reading many are getting 4.6.
  12. I have read that thread, and that seems to be how I'm operating the AP. I'm not quite sure mine seems to be a bit of a chore.
  13. So I've got the local GTN mods, and v1.8 overhaul from the wonderful folks here at avsim. I'm really not thinking my IAS mode is working right though. My routine is: Set FD and Nav or Hdg on runway Takeoff, engage AP, clean up aircraft Hold 130-140kts Hit IAS, then dial altitude and hit arm When I do the above the airspeed will continue to decrease until I take it out of IAS, gain more airspeed and hit it again. The second time it will usually hold a steady speed at 10-25kts faster than I have set. Am I doing something wrong or is this typical behavior from the IAS mode??
  14. Makes sense. I haven't flown any in FSE so I'm not familiar with the bigger birds in FSE. Thank you for clearing that up for me though.
  15. I know FSE has 727 and 737. Not sure if they have bigger jets but I'm trying to see the differences here in all these add ons as well.
  16. This concept sounds a bit like FSEconomy. I'm not really sure what it adds to what is already established. FSEconomy is compatible with most aircraft. I do not believe a concorde is mapped at this time. You could always request to have it added. There are literally hundreds of aircraft to use with FSE.
  17. Thank you for chiming in. I've only owned ASN so I'm not familiar with HIFIs past upgrade paths. I think I'd be a pretty happy camper is they offered a small discount on AS16 for current ASN users. I feel the same way about ASCA though, it's a new product entirely.
  18. I knew it was in there somewhere!!! You are a saint Bert!!
  19. Is there somewhere on the aircraft to set the decision height?? I can't for the life of me seem to find it. Thanks everyone!!!
  20. Was your inertial separator off?? That'll steal lots of power.
  21. I can't speak to the 6700k, but I just build an i5 6600k and it's fantastic!! I'd imagine the 6700k is blissful.
  22. Again, if users prefer to use space + mouse, you CAN use it that way. I do everyday. I hate middle mouse with a passion. Yet, still love ezdok with space + mouse to look around.
  23. My friend, you are in luck. You CAN use space + mouse to look around as I've mentioned previously. First, unbind space and space^ in your sim. Next go into ezdok key setting and set it. Here is the trick, it will NOT display correctly. It will not show that it has been bound. But once you attempt to bind it, it will work. I use it this way and it's fantastic. Also, if you just need to adjust your seat position, it's actually easier that ctrl/shift/enter. WAY easier!! You simply hit the 2 key on your numpad then the arrows and page up/down to adjust. Hit the 2 key again to save it. It's so simple really. I assure you, ezdok can and will do everything you need, and then some. You've just gotta give it a chance and learn it. Oh, and you can use default views while using ezdok if you really want to. But I don't see the need once you have it setup the way you want it.
  24. Oh, I almost forgot. Since you can save the settings for aircraft out as a single file, you can email them. As an example, I've got a carenado ct206h setup pretty well, if this were one of the aircraft you wanted setup I could send you the file. They are super easy to load and save. I use the feature to load one file I've done onto fresh aircraft I haven't setup yet and then just adjust them. But with how many users are on avsim there is a good chance if you ask someone has already done the work and would save it out and share it with you. If you want to add to, adjust, or change the aircraft a little from that point it'd still save you a bit of time.
