July 26, 200520 yr Hey all,I haven't heard much about the Flight 1 DC-9, was wondering how it rates from current owners, or anybone who has a comment. For example does it work 100% with FS2004 and how does it compare to Dreamfleet's 727? I know Flight 1 is working on an MD-80, should I just wait for that to come out as it looks beautiful!Any comments appreciatedThanks,Jeff Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
July 26, 200520 yr Jeff,There's a better freeware offer out there.try Stellan Himerbys DC9er...its outstandind!!//Michael
July 26, 200520 yr Hi Michael,Thanks for your reply,I did a search and couldn't find anything except an old flightsim page with nothing on it.Jeff Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
July 26, 200520 yr Jeff -DC9-41 and -21 panel and aircraft build with layout from SAS. A panel that need careful check list reading before engine start. Most systems must be handled as in the real aircraft. No Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. Klaatu barada nickto.
July 26, 200520 yr Thanks guys, I'll check out that one and hold out until the Md-80 is released.Jeff Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
July 26, 200520 yr Correct but not that much is clickable. The Flight1 title was designed for FS2k2. At this point you'd be better off with the freeware option mentioned above. Maybe someone will eventually design an up to date DC9. I happen to like the Lago MD-80 but support is seriously lacking on that product. For the most part it's a great add-on though (everything works)... July 26, 200520 yr It's an excellent, if dated, product. And no, there's no better freeware out there. There may be freeware with some better eyecandy, but the systems simulation on the F1 bird is second to none. You can't really compare it to the DF 727. There's 2 years or so of progress in technology between the two.But if you take that into account, they're similar. Both are at the high end of what was possible at the time they were released.Yes, it works perfectly well in FS2004.
July 26, 200520 yr When it first came out, it was awesome. Now, it's merely great. Seriously, it flies very nicely, the VC is ok, the overhead 2-D panel has some technical errors. Personally, I love it - one of my favorite models.
July 26, 200520 yr I agree, the F1 DC9 was state of the art when released and is still an enjoyable aircraft to fly on FS2004. The virtual cockpit is not up to today's standards, but the flight model is quite good and the systems modeling will have you digging into the manuals. This aircraft was from an earlier age, so expect analog gauges and a somehat confusing cockpit layout (like the real aircraft). No problem with frame rates, the 2d panel is easy to read, and there are plenty of repaints available.Dale Dale
July 26, 200520 yr The best DC9s out there are by Jet City. Have a good look at those.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
July 26, 200520 yr >And no, there's no better freeware out there.I guess you don't know what you are talking about...The DC9 panel of Stellan Hilmerby and Matts Falck is system wise way ahead on the Flight1 panel. It should be because Stellan Hilmerby was a DC9 captain for many, many years. (He's now a A340 captain)The Flight1 panel looks nice, but it has a few major bugs regarding the simulation of the systems. So just try to install it, and give your opinion based on facts. July 26, 200520 yr >The best DC9s out there are by Jet City. Have a good look at>those.>>LeeYou'd still have to find a good panel with the Jet City DC9.
July 26, 200520 yr >Which is the F1 panel. JC built their models specifically to>use the F1 panel. My point was that the Jet City aircraft doesn't come with any panel of its own, I do believe.
