Also, just installed the 353.62 drivers and SLI is now fully functional ... no artifacts so far .. still testing.

Rob - does it appear to be scaling better? On a related note--and one you may be able to sympathize with--I just discovered Project CARS and, as more of a traditional game app in terms of video card use, I could see myself chucking another 780ti in here...

Is the water waves still only visible from close with this fix.

Rich mentioned something about this being one of the cons of using this fix,

Generally what do I loose in graphics if I use this fix

cheers for all the handwork guys

I'm very excited about trying this and seeing whether I'll be getting the OOM crashes that have been plaguing me for the past couple of months.

Good to go - was a problem with a temp file on my system as stated few posts back - thanks

And, back to the original point of the thread...is there any way to tell if it helps with VAS?

Honestly not really - my first observations was obvious but you would loose your distant waves - with this version they are in-tact but not much benefit and doing it as far as I can tell - well see as I think Rob is going to put it to the test a bit

AA is not as good as my tweakforce driver I was using

Wer files are logs from an exception. So you're running Windows 10, using a "tweaked" driver, and your having issues ... hmmm ... anything else we should know or is that a secret and LM need to fix it ... hehehe ... sorry couldn't resist. :)

On a side note: the 353.62 drivers in SLI do still have artifacts with ship wakes, aircraft lights seem fine now ... drivers don't drop out of SLI mode on menu access either. I did run DDU to clear out the old drivers.

Those water file adjustments are giving me about 150-200 MB additional VAS around KDAB with very high graphics settings using 2048 (Water at ultra).

Unrelated, but some 2D panels are consuming significant VAS (200MB in some cases) and they don't release it ... have to investigate this more (nothing to do with these water adjustments)

Cheers, Rob.

.is there any way to tell if it helps with VAS?

1.  Leave original files in place

2.  Do a flight around ocean area and record the flight (I used Aerosoft KDAB and Orbx AYPY) and keep it CLEAR weather, no AI

3.  Setup FSUIPC log VAS to file

4.  Save the situation/flight file (.fxml) and exit P3D

5.  Load P3D by double clicking .fxml

6.  Do two slow 360 degree rotations in VC, goto Spot View and do two slow 360 degree rotations, return to VC

7.  Play the saved recorded flight back

8.  Once done check the FSUIPC log file and save it somewhere

9.  Follow the procedures for file changes outlined in this thread  (backup files first!)

10.  Load P3D by double clicking .fxml

11.  Do two slow 360 degree rotations in VC, goto Spot View and do two slow 360 degree rotations, return to VC

12.  Play the saved recorded flight back

13.  Once done check the FSUIPC log file and save it somewhere

14.  Compare the two FSUIPC log files and note any VAS differences.

Be sure you selection locations near large bodies or water and be sure to fly out into those bodies of water when you record your flight.

Cheers, Rob.

Your findings sound spot on Robert - not much of a difference and it was not the driver it was a pesky temp file (couldn't resist bro - been around the block a few times) that being said I learned something new about watching out for temp files and periodically destroying them

As for the latest nvidia  driver it does offer pretty much the same results so I will stay with it - but tweakforce does have very nice offerings been using them for years with no problems - just have to follow feedback in Their forums

Rob or Robin ... no Robert ;)

I doubt your issue has anything to do with Temp files ... those are generated post app crash.

I would think the same thing but I tried new nvidia driver to rule that out still crashed - dumped temp folder with the event viewer file in question all better so thats what I can only assume was the issue

My brothers name is Robert - habit - but actually he goes by Bobby
