VoxATC and P3D V3

Featured Replies

Due to the move of P3D to a newly bought SSD i had to redo the whole installation of P3D including addon's (amongst which VoxAtc).

Without wanting to frustrate anyone with different results here but i managed again to properly install VoXatc 6.52 on P3D 3.3.5 with the migration tool active.

I have done one testflight in Europe with Voxatc properly guiding me from startup to shutdown.

I too am looking forward to V7 (if indeed it will happen) but given the proper working of 6.52 now, i hope the pricetag of the upgrade is right for me. Sofar i can live with Voxatc working as it is.

If required i can help in trying to find out why it is it works with me and for others. I have P3D and VoxAtc both installed on the SSD now which is not my OS drive.

Is there any evidence of the V7 of Vox atc actually being tested prior to release?

This seems to be the one forum for Vox users and there has never been talk of testers or feedback to the author as there is with the other main contenders in the ATC arena which are openly admitting to being either Beta versions, or under constant update, and invite bug reports from users.

Is the writer doing it all himself or is there a secret cadre of Beta testers beavering away, that we are not allowed to know about!?

It is all so furtive and unsatisfactory, really.

I really have to agree, this is rather unsatisfactory. I dont know if I should move on and explore other alternatives (where the developer is so much more open by the way), or if I should stay and wait for just a little longer. its not so much for me that we dont hear anything, but when promised by the publisher that information was to be released at the flight sim conference and it did not. And when contacting them they reply they will get back to me shortly but they fail to do so. That is what frustrates me the most

As I have said elsewhere I have bought the three other main ATC programs on offer , PF3, proatc and pilot2Atc and I have done my best to get to grips with them but in each case they are either over complicated, don't always get me to my destination without some sort of issue or demand too much of my in flight time for a flight to be enjoyable, to me.

They are being constantly developed by very able people who do their best to sort out problems as they arise so I expect these programs will be great very shortly.

But, having got Vox to work in P3dv3, it does everything I need, simply, and easily set up. And so far it has not made any navigation errors.

I don't use the "speech" mode, preferring the copilot to do everything, and that suits me and what I want from P3d.

So I will stick with Vox for now, but will occasionally try the latest offerings of the others to see if they are where I want them to be.

I would love there to be a "7"!

Has anyone heard from RC Simulations recently about VoxATC 7? I have sent them a couple of e-mails but they haven't replied back. It would be nice if they would at least say that they are testing it.

It appears that the wait continues...

I heard from Carol at RC Simulation today. VoxATC 7 is already complete. What is keeping it from release is Tegwyns integration with the UK expansion pack. As soon as that is done and DVD image burned to discs it will be out. I did not get a firm date on actual releasedate but this should give a hint.

Tantalising!

I remember hoping for the update to 6.52 to be out for last Christmas so I would have something extra to fiddle with in the hols...now it is 8 months later and still only third party communication about what is happening!

Sounds hopeful though. Fingers crossed.

When I was flying FSX I used VoxATC because of the ability to use my own voice to talk to ATC. Now that I'm flying just P3D I miss that ability to talk to ATC with my own voice. Since I do my flight planning with simBrief.com, I'm waiting for VoxATC version 7 to come out for P3D and see what that does. Otherwise the only chance I have to use my own voice would be to just fly VATSIM.

This is good news! Thank you for the update!

Actually, Pilot2ATC also allows you to use voice interaction.

I looked into Pilot2ATC, and just noticed it has the ability to use your own voice. Now, I also have purchased in the pass a few IVONA voices, but wonder if they can be use with Pilot2ATC, like I was using with VoxATC?

Yes you can. Vox is more "polished" at this time but P2A is a work in progress and an alternative to Vox.

NAX669.png

That's true. At least I see more activity and interaction between the developers and customers at the Pilot2ATC forum. You can't say the same here, and that's a shame, because I had a positive view of VoxATC when I was using it for FSX. I will monitor both forums for a few more weeks and see what improvements are happening with both VoxATC 7, and the latest updates with Pilot2ATC v2. Right now I'm thinking that if VoxATC 7 comes out and If I wouldn't need to repurchase the product by using my old key, then great! But if I have to purchase the product again, then I will compare features and cost between both.

I'm guessing that since this is a full version update there will be a charge. That's the way it usually works. I don't have a problem with it because I bought VOX about 5 years ago and haven't had to pay anything since. I am disappointed in the lack of communication in the last year.

NAX669.png

I am not against a update fee for 7.0 but i have to admit this lack of reliable  communication does not help.

There will probably be a P3D V3.4 of V4.x soon and then what?

I am certainly not against paying for support. Not getting it is more of an issue. And this from someone who succefully installed voxatc 6.52 in P3D V3.3.5 without any support.

I admit loving voxatc but the current lack of reliable information migth lead in my case to choosing a different package.
