VoxATC and P3D V3

Featured Replies

Have a lot of sympathy with your view Mike, for me though Vox is the only real solution to get properly realistic uk VFR ATC, so I'll buy it anyway :). It will be whatever it will be, and that includes support. Other people's views may differ and thats all good :) A little bit of comms would go a long way with most people though I imagine? :) Cheers K

Kevin,

I don't disagree about the software. I've been in the flightsim hobby since 1988. I've owned just about all of the ATC products, and for me, Vox has been my go to for as long as I've used it. Any business owner has a responsibility to their customer for support after the sale. Until recently, this had never been an issue with VOX. I'm sure I'll probably buy it when it becomes available but the communication issue really needs to be improved upon.

Although i am fairly happy with VoxATC on P3D V3.3.5 i did notice lately that the air traffic controller is deteriorating.

Today in a approach to Gatwick (EGKK) the controller caused twice a serious separation incident by directing an AI pilot and myself to steer towards each other instead of separting us properly.

This was not the first time btw. I have in the last 4 weeks encountered more separation incidents then ever before.

Also i noticed the taxiway lightning is not bright anymore in P3D (but i remember vaguely this is caused by something else i can not find anymore)

So although i will keep using VoxATC for the time being i am more and more hoping a new release will fix this kind of very irritating bugs.

And Tegwyn, if your are reading this i am more than happy to test the new release also with above in mind

I don't know at what point v7 falls into the category of vaporware.

I'm one of those funny people who believe that a company's (or developer's) reputation is made not on how they treat the customer before the sale, but on how they treat the customer AFTER the sale. Vox 6.52 has been out for more than a year and not long after it was released support basically disappeared and ended up being handled in this forum. As you stated, and I stated in an earlier post, life events happen be it family, job, or health. That being said, it's bad business not to take a moment to let your customers know why they're not getting support on a piece of software that they've purchased. I'm not talking about using VOX in P3Dv3. We know that was unsupported. There have been numerous posts concerning supported sims and all of that had to be handled in this forum by other members because they could not get any response from Tegwyn. I had  hoped to see a version 7 of Vox as much as anyone, but I'm beginning  to have major trust issues when it comes to this developer.

Good post I feel the same way.

We know theres a v7, we know its being tested

Kevin, I'm sorry... I see lots of references to "VOX 7".   You and someone else seem to "know" what's going on -- at least a little.   Can you point me to the source of this knowledge?   Or have you had direct communication with Tegwyn or do you know someone that does?

I've been a VOX ATC user for quite a few years and will undoubtedly buy it immediately.    I too remember when Tegwyn's email responses were very timely.

Thanks for you insights.

It was supposed to revealed weeks ago at another conference but nobody's talking. I'm currently using Pilot 2 Atc.

That makes two of us..at least.  It works for me.

John,

It's a work in progress and the developer is active on the forums. The two things that I miss are the virtual first officer to tune the radios and the interaction with AI traffic. There is canned chatter that you can add but it's not the same.

NAX669.png

That is true about the FO, Mike, but after getting the ATC instruction to contact on a new frequency, I use MCE and repeat the frequency given by ATC, and the MCE FO tunes it for me, and also sets new headings and altitudes as required.

Works a treat and, very importantly, the p2atc speech recognition has so far never mis heard any of my requests which is very reassuring.

However this is a Vox forum so one had better not talk about another program on here. P2atc has its own active forum elsewhere.

Looks like v2.0.1.8 may have dealt with the FO issue, like Vox atc 6.52 does.(But have not tried it yet)

John,

I just installed it, but like you have not had a chance to try it. I only have one more need and that is interaction with AI traffic and I am good.

Hi there.I've not seen the developer on these forums or had any reply to emails-is there another forum you are talking about?

Jay

OK disregard- you meant Pilot2ATC not Vox
