Imagine KATL topic disappeared

Featured Replies

I was following a topic about Imagine KATL  FSX but the item seems to have disappeared.

Is there a reason for this removal?

Somehow it ended up over in hangar chat... a moderator must have gotten bored and started mashing buttons.

Found the topic on the main page with nine comments but there were more if my memory was correct including pro's and con's about buying the scenery.

I didn't see anything in the thread that was out of line, but something out of line may certainly have been posted after I last saw it, but I was following thread due to posting in it, and I didn't see anything in my email that should have warranted removal.  A mystery!

IMHO, Imaginesim is one of the companys who draws a lot of critiism, especially from those who are experienced with many different scenery providers. I can't speak for their latest release, but if it holds true to their past products then it's my opinion that it's an AFCAD with some default textures changed and a few objects added.  Certainly not the sort of thing I'd pay $32 for when you consider what you get for the same price from other scenery developers.  As for frame rate friendly, so are AFCADs (which are free) because they don't have a lot of custom buildings, textures, objects and other features.

There is a terrific KATL AFCAD in the AVSIM Library by Erik Ingram (look for version 1.3 or later). Erik did a terrific and very accurate job with the AFCAD, including updating all the next taxiways (such as the Victor taxiway). Really terrific work!

By the way, don't want want to give the impression that I have something against payware scenery. Just the opposite. I have purchased hundreds (probably a couple of thousands) of dollars work the scenery over the years, and will continue to do so as I love the added immersion.

I am glad they take on airports others have not done, but as I said in that topic, they abandon and do not fix bugs, their patches for WSSS and ZSPD broke each airport and then they removed the patches and I have heard nothing in 6 months since. I paid for 2 previous versions that had bugs and now they want full price for a 3rd. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth that is all. They do let you try it out in a demo which is nice. If I was purchasing for the first time I wouldn't hesitate to buy the new ATL. But money is a little tighter for me now with so many great addons this year that I am getting a little more picky. And making my statements public I hope they like other developers listen and get better, this community needs quality developers that also fix bugs and address customer's concerns.

I  was wondering why my thread was deleted. Maybe too many complaints?

Like many of you, I have several Imaginesim airports, but only have KLGA installed. I still enjoy it! The rest are a thing of the past.

This version of KATL is priced too high. I was just looking for some honest feedback since the demo is not always a great way to judge an add-on.

I merged another similar topic in the Hangar Chat into this one.  Didn't realize the topic stayed in the Hangar Chat Forum.  I'll move it back to the FSX | FSX-SE forum.  Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
