Why A320 and why B738?

Featured Replies

Hello, Guys!

I and you all watch daily that thousands of A320 and B738 fly over sky.

I've seen on FR24, many Countries have B738 fleet more and many have A320 fleet more. Why Countries Prefer these two Aircraft on each other? Which is best? When we see same number of both Aircrafts on sky at a time then we're unable to understand which is best actually?

Like FlyDubai has all B737-800 Fleet. Why they don't like A320?

Same as, some Countries have only A320s or A321s.

Some things I've seen that B738 has louder voice and they have bigger wings, looks beautiful and have less vertical speed. Not Economical as compare to A320s etc...

While A320 are easy to fly, economical, vertical speed increase more then B738. They have small wings. Less Beautiful. Also they have low voice etc...

In both, I don't know Passenger comfort level, while takeoff, while in Air, while landing.

So, in the end I would ask What actually is the matter? What do you say which is best?

Regards,

Sometimes it's just as simple as what kind of financial deal the airline can cut with the manufacturer.

Often airlines want to use only one kind of plane to save maintenance costs. It is much more expensive to keep maintenance experts and spare parts for several planes instead of one. In Canada, Westjet's business success relied on only using 737s for many years. Now they also use Dash 8 Q400s for short trips.

Very large airlines tend to diversify more because they need a lot of staff anyway. It is also a strategic decision: it as advantageous to keep both Boeing and Airbus strong so that there is enough competition in this segment.

Fuel economy simply. Airbus consumes much less than Boeing. At the time of today, there's airlines prefers Airbus for its consumption less greedy while carburizing.

It's my opinion.

Airbus consumes much less than Boeing.

No. Some Airbus aircraft might consume less fuel on certain missions, while some Boeings might consume less fuel on others. And you also need to consider cargo capacity, performance, manufacturer deals, and MANY other factors.

To answer the OP's question: because the airplane made financial sense at the time it was purchased. EVERY airline is different. It's not a matter of 'liking' the aircraft, aesthetics, or one aircraft being 'better' than another.

Guys! I need more experienced comments on this. Plz help.

For each airline a new purchase of aircraft is firstly a question of demand. What capacity and range do they need? If more than one manufacturer meets the requirements, the decision is based on a strategic factor. Which manufacturer was preferred for the current fleet? If it is manufacturer A, the next purchase is likely to be from manufacturer A again, as this will require much less training (i.e. is less costly). Regarding Boeing and Airbus: There cockpit philosophies are quite different and re-training the cockpit staff therefore expensive. Of course, there are also more or less evident differences between competing offers (slightly different fuel consumption, slightly different performance), but modern aircraft are generally very similar as far as safety and economy is concerned. And the newest generation aircraft is mostly more economic than the previous one.

In that case, why not contact some airlines and ask them? ;)

OK Guys! I've understand.

Next is Passenger's comfort? While Landing. Which plane of these lands well according to Passenger's comfort plus less jolts?

I was on A320. Its landing experience was very bad. So much jolt while landing.

Apart from these two Aircrafts: My experience on B777 was magnificent. I didn't feel any jolt etc.. Even someone told me aircraft has landed and now we're on runway. I was shocked that this Aircraft had smoothest landing I felt.

I'd also say this primarily depends on how much fpm the touchdown is. Maybe there is a difference in autopilot software regarding flare intensity. I have also heard that a good hand-flying pilot can touch down much smoother than autoland does. And then, there is wind, aircraft weight, approach speed and so many other factors, that I'd say its also not possible to tell that plane A lands with more jolt than plane B.

Your A320 may have been on autoland with a lower speed and different weather than your 777 landing was.....

Perhaps it was just one 'less than smooth' landing by one pilot..... rather than all A320s having rough landing characteristics?
