777 Routes

Featured Replies

What are your favorite routes to fly in the 777? I need ideas.

Also, what are some short routes (around 2-4 hours) as I would like to fly this plane short haul as well as long haul.

Thanks

Definitely EGLL-KJFK and back, as for short routes pretty much all of Emirates routes that are 2-4 hours are done in the 777, so just take a look at any Emirates routes.

Thanks, I will take a look!

If you want really short, Emirates flies the 77W between Dubai and Doha, but also lots of other short routes in their network.

Aerologic also has some nice ones such as Leipzig-Frankfurt, Nottingham, etc.

I always use OTHH-OMDB for test flights - handy with the NGX too.

Beech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?
ATC: Yeah, it's OK. He's not hungry.

X-Plane 12 and MSFS2020  🙂

System specs: Windows 11  Pro 64-bit, Ubuntu Linux 20.04 i7-13700KF  Gigabyte Z790 RTX-4060-Ti , 32GB RAM  1X 2TB M2 for X-Plane 12,  1x256GB SSD for OS. 1TB drive MSFS2020

If you're looking real world, KLM EHAM-HECA is a good one but there is a shortage of good Cairo scenery (and AS Amsterdam has sort of had its day too, I think. Great for its time though).

By Nottingham, do you mean East Midlands? (It's my local)

Montreal CYUL - Toronto CYYZ is a nice short little hop that is sometimes operated by Air Canada 77W. That one gets my geographically biased vote.

PANC-KMEM with FDX 77LR.

ENGX, I do!

Yeah, I prefer citynames over airportnames, haha.

I always bugs me if somebody says xyz airport and I don't know which one is meant. :D

I like to pick routes based on my own flight experience and locations that I've visited.  Bring back memories of interesting places and times.

Try UAE105 (Dubai-Athens, OMDB-LGAV, approximate flight time is 4 hours -depending on the aloft winds- and there are great FlightTampa sceneries for these two airports, Emirates operate both 777-200LR and -300ER for this route)

There are multiple 777 and/or 787 flights between Vancouver and Toronto. Thats what comes to my mind first.
