September 25, 200520 yr Well I have been flying the 767 constantly since I purchased it a couple of days ago. I probably have racked up over 20 hours on it already ( not that I am addicted or anything) Due to some medical test that kept me in the house for a couple of days I was forced to spend alot of time flying this aircraft ;)... Here is my impression of the 767-300:It is Fantastic. I have been playing around with Flight Sims for a couple of decades, and nothing I have flown, even comes close to the fun I am having with this 767. I took it on a couple of short hops like Birmingham to Atlanta and some longer hops, and it works perfectly for either one. It does everything, the sounds, the views out the window, looking around the 2D cabin and finding a box of replacement lamps stowed behind the pilots seat, every little detail seems to be there, and done well. The flight attendants complaining about the temperature in the cabin if you take too much time firing up the engines, the engine sounds, the taxiing which is really realistic, (I have flown the 767-400ER full motion sim to compare it to), the FMC which does eveything, talking to the ground crew and asking for pushback, and ground power, it is one excellent job of programming....... If you like flying big Jets, you have got to get this aircraft, you will be absolutely amazed. It looks great, sounds great, and flys like the real thing. It doesn't get any better than that..
September 25, 200520 yr thanks for the kind words Bob!!!maybe you need to try THIS on for size??? lolhttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/siggies/lsd1.jpgGary HayesLevel-D Simulations Development TeamNo im not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.P4 3.0ghz w/HT & FSB..Radeon X850XT 256MB..1 gig PC3200 DDR RAM..Sound Blaster Audigy w/5.1 THX Gary Hayes My Youtube No i'm not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
September 25, 200520 yr I agree, that's why I can't wait for them to do the 757! since it's my favorite. It will probably be even better.Jeff Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
September 25, 200520 yr Ditto Bob ditto, the most well behaved autopilot I've ever seen, smooooth displays great graphic/texture work in 2d and vc, rock solid programming, robust and glitchless. Had a great flight as Delta 683 ATL/MBJ earlier today :) - gave VNAV a good workoutThis is my first fmc, having been an Airbus driver, but it has not been hard with a little readup and practice - same principles - love it.Heck I even like to just sit in the vc powered up at the gate - atmosphere just feels so much like an airliner :-shy - I too look forward to the 757.I still live in hope that someday an LDS level team will bring a modern A3xx to life - nobody has yet, not like this.regards,MarkXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1GIG/X700pro256 Regards, Mark
September 25, 200520 yr I totally agree. The Level-D 767 has never let down. Perfect autoland feature, Missi did a great job creating the visual model, the FDE is simply beautiful and lots of things more (along with an easy to paint texture set and paintkit and great product Support). It is truely 40 dollars well spent.
September 25, 200520 yr Thanks for your impressions, Bob! I can't wait to get my hands on this one.-JeremyThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!
September 25, 200520 yr Its great to hear you're enjoying her Bob! Shes a wonderful aircraft. :) Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
September 25, 200520 yr I wished they would have made the freighter version, maybe after the 757? And maybe a 757F ???
September 25, 200520 yr Hi Bob,Actually, I think it DOES get "better than that." Have you tried the PMDG 747? You know, the one that beat out LDS for the best of Avsim Bravo Zulu award?I tried the LDs product as a "demo," on a friends computer when it first came out and was NOT impressed. So much so, I decided to spend my hard earned money on other products.Try the PMDG 747. . .and don't just listen to me. . .AVSim itself awarded this sim. . .best of.Gary Hawk
September 25, 200520 yr "Actually, I think it DOES get "better than that." Have you tried the PMDG 747? It's a shame the LDS offering has taken a back seat to a product that still needs work... :-rollThe bright side of this rather dismal observation is every other website, group, org, etc of the FS Community recongnizes the obvious in these two offerings (not saying the PMDG 744 isn't good but compared to LDS, .........). I like to make hops of around 200 miles, since I fly almost every night when I get home from work. Not exactly 747 stuff...2. There seem to be quite a few issues with the aircraft as posted on their support forum.3. $55 is over the top, as far as I am concerned for an FS9 add-on 747. I paid $70 for the two halves of the 737, and while it was the best thing going at the time, I thought that was out of line also. It didn't seem so bad, since you paid in 2 installments, but I never would have purchased it if I had to buy the complete package all at once.

It's also a shame that people continue to bash either product, especially considering that one of them has had about 6 times as long to get patched than the other... His credibility is a tad lacking when considering the history, which people should all be aware of when they read one of his LDS vs anyone else posts.>Try the PMDG 747. . .and don't just listen to me. . .AVSim>itself awarded this sim. . .best of.I agree, try the PMDG.
