August 18, 20169 yr Have you completed the installation of UT2, Nelson? I was under the impression that the latest error occurred during the setup process..... August 18, 20169 yr This is the first error message after running the UT traffic .exe Chris, I will try to be clear here. When I ran the set up for UT all went well up to the end of installing all the files and then I got the error which shows in post 277 above. I never got a message saying installation successful as per Elaine tutorial. Nelson
August 18, 20169 yr Author I don't think that he has yet completed the installation, Elaine. If Nelson has all the folders in his Flight One Folder that I have shown in the image 280, well then the Instaltion is complete, as I said the reason Nelson got an error message instead of an Instaltion complete message was due to the fact the Installer seen the FSX keys and tried to add an entry to his dll.xml in Microsoft/FSX, hence the error. Yes that's what I did Nelson, Do Not start your UT2 control panel, completely ignore it and everything else error related. FIRST get the UT2 music going before you do anything. You need to go back and look at the exe.xml platt of the tuorial on page 1. The exe.xml file is the only thing that makes UT2 launch when you start Prrpar3D and once you hear the music then the last Couple of steps are small. I will be online later.
August 18, 20169 yr Can you post a screenshot of your exe.xml file, Nelson? Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
August 18, 20169 yr There seems to be a rogue question mark\colon\backward slash combo in this line...... <Path>?:\C:\Prepa3D v3\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Services.exe</Path> I think that some of those lines also need to be indented. Below is a copy of my own exe.xml file.... <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?><SimBase.Document Type="AceXML" version="3,0" id="exe"> <Descr>AceXML Document</Descr> <Filename>exe.xml</Filename> <Launch.Addon> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Name>UT2</Name> <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Services.exe</Path> <NewConsole>True</NewConsole> </Launch.Addon></SimBase.Document> Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
August 18, 20169 yr Yes Chris I noticed this too and removed them and saved the file. Just so I know, how does UT start. And what is this music I am supposed to be looking for? Do you start P3d and UT automatically starts?? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks Nelson
August 18, 20169 yr Author Nelson, can you Copy and Paste your exe.xml file here, Christopher will clean it up for you Including your Pathway ? And then you can Paste it back into your exe.xml file. Start Prepar3D, can you hear Music??? If you can't hear Music, don't go any further, The Awnswr is in your exe.xml file

August 18, 20169 yr Author Hi, is there supposed to be an entry in the p3d scenery lib like My Traffic has because I don't have one No First insure you are running Prepar3D as administrator. Also Insure you are fully running UT2 as administrator Post #280 Open your exe.xml file and delete everything inside it. Copy and Paste this into it, Click Save Do Not try and Start the UT2 Control Panel. Turn on your speakers or you headphones, Start Prepar3D if you can hear Music, Then you know your exe.xml file is set up correctly <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>exe.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Name>as_btstrp_config_manager</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>as_srv\as_btstrp_config_manager.exe</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>VFXCentral</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>C:/Program Files (x86)/OldProp Solutions Inc/VFXCentral/VFXCentral.exe</Path> <CommandLine>P3Dv3</CommandLine> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Name>UT2</Name> <Path>C:\Prepar3D v3\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Services.exe</Path> <NewConsole>True</NewConsole> </Launch.Addon> </SimBase.Document> Let me know.........
August 18, 20169 yr When she says "music", she means a female voice saying the words "Ultimate Traffic 2 initialised" with some music in the background. August 18, 20169 yr Well, well thanks to you both with your suggestions, I have it installed and working. I don't know much about the program although I did use My Traffic and it is similar. It did install an option in P3D under addons where FSUIPC is installed. It gives me options to increase and decrease traffic, start and stop traffic. Is this supposed to be there if the installation goes ok. I still don't hear the music when P3D boots up. I can see lots of traffic and they all are ultimate 2 traffic. If you both lived close I would buy you a beer and a glass of wine. You both went way beyond especially you Elaine and also Chris, as far as I'm concerned and I hope lots of simmers were watching this thread. It's good to have you both in the community. Thanks from a great full Canadian BTW I went into the fsx.cfg and changed the sim object entry from a 0 to a 1 and that appeared to have done the trick or at least got me to where I am now but still no music. I don't know why the music doesn't play as it shows the correct path in the exe.xml file As I said I think it is working as it should. Do you still want me to paste the exe.xml file you posted abvove??? Nelson
August 18, 20169 yr It is very strange that you are not hearing "Ultimate Traffic 2 initialised" during the Prepar3D startup sequence.... August 18, 20169 yr Question does UT2 have military traffic. I cannot see any traffic at all at my Home base of Trenton Ontario CYTR. Can one of you please check if this airport has any traffic.. Thank Nelson No Chris I don't should it be there SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft
August 18, 20169 yr Author I don't know why the music doesn't play as it shows the correct path in the exe.xml file It is very strange that you are not hearing "Ultimate Traffic 2 initialised" during the Prepar3D startup sequence. Yes strange alright, I guess once your 100% sure you are seeing UT2 Traffic and its Not Default P3D traffic ? Your speakers are turned on and your sound card is configured to the device your using for sound Yes ? You see the UT2 Tab in-game in Prepar3D Yes?
