September 2, 20169 yr I take it your doing all the Usual stuff, Like running Prepar3D and UT2 as administrator Adding exceptions to your Anti virus Software and so on ============= How do you have your UT2Settings.cfg set up in AppData ► Roaming ►Flight One Software ► Ultimate Traffic 2 ............? (1) Are you pointing this Path to an FSX.cfg In AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D V3 ? (2) Or to your Prepar3D.cfg (Same Location) Rename either your Prepar3D.cfg or your FSX.cfg which ever one you are using, If its FSX.cfg, Rename it, Copy and Paste another FSX.cfg and then try. At least this will eliminate an Issue with your Path= settings. When you do this you will have to Readjust this again SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft Thanks Elaine, your help is priceless! Everything's running as admin. Everything in P3d is excluded from anti virus. Services pointing to the copied and renamed P3d.cfg,= FSX.cfg. All entries are as before. My issue started when I used Power Pack to compile a route from Munchengladbach to Dusseldorf...I finished the Power Pack upload into UT2 Control Panel. Closed down Power Pack and tried to open Control Panel to set the repaints and traffic percentage....Then I got the issue. Control Panel shows, almost finishes loading and just before it finishes loading/initializing, the above mentioned windows error shows up. I think the Power Pack route I did somehow corrupted the Control Panel, with System Argument Out Of Range error? Its not affecting UT2 loading in P3dv3. I get the music on load and all UT2 aircraft show up in sim exactly as before. I even see the traffic from the Munchengladbach route???? Its just the control Panel that kicks up the error and won't load. I will try removing the FSX.cfg and re copy P3d.cfg again, rename it to FSX.cfg and add the correct UT2 entry. If the Control Panel won't load,I can only think a reinstall is required. I tried deleting the Munchengladbach route from the UT2 routes and plans folder, but it makes no difference. Thanks again for your expert help and patience! Regards David
September 2, 20169 yr I haven't checked any UT2 files in the Scenery/World/Scenery folder, Elaine. I will have a look tonight. SimObject.cfg and Prepar3D.cfg files have been checked and verified. I do not get any error messages, or any indication that anything is wrong. It simply will not inject any AI planes into the simulator. I am considering reinstalling UT2 if nothing else works. September 2, 20169 yr What is the part of UT2 that actually injects the AI planes into the simulator? I can say what it isn't! Its not the Control Panel, mine is not initializing, yet I see all UT2 traffic in the simulator, as if everything's ok? But a good question Cristopher. I guess you still haven't got any traffic in the sim? We are both probably looking at a de-install/reinstall....:( Beats me completely! regards David
September 2, 20169 yr Reinstallation proved that the default UT2 is working fine, but getting my upgraded flightplans to work is proving extremely difficult. I have tried all kinds of things, but they simply will not work. I am very close to dumping UT2 forever, and adding all of my upgraded flightplans as BGL files. I can do this because I have all of the necessary text files, and AIFP 3.113 to compile them. I will just have to adjust them for "one off" repaints like Star Alliance, logojets, and special anniversary paints. More work, but my patience is rapidly dwindling where UT2 is concerned. A shame, considering that everything was working just fine before my recent major upgrade programme Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester

September 2, 20169 yr Author Chris, rename this file trafficAircraft.bgl and set your P3D aircraft traffic sliders to 0 internally. You should now see the UT planes. Thank you David for chipping in here, Much appreciate that
September 3, 20169 yr rename this file trafficAircraft.bgl and set your P3D aircraft traffic sliders to 0 internally. You should now see the UT planes. That does not work.....and I am puzzled as to why you think it would work  EDIT: I have just noticed that the TrafficAircraft.UTB file is dated 02/07/2015. I reinstalled UT2 last night, so shouldn't that be dated 02/09/2016? Is there a way to rebuild the traffic database file after UT2 has already been installed? September 3, 20169 yr My pleasure Elaine. The thanks go to you for your fantastic help here :-) Christopher, I had same troubles than you and renaming the file did the trick for me. To answer your question, my TrafficAircraft.UTB is also dated 02/07/2015 and I see no way to rebuild it (!) FYI, I have tried for days and days to launch UT2Services via P3D exe.xml file. For whatever mysterious reason it simply doesn't work on my system (Win 10 Anniversary), the app isn't launched automatically. (zero error on the exe file) So I launch it externally now and since I renamed this UTB file I can use UT2 quite "normally". I mean, using a vanilla UT2 without updating seasonal data because this thing can break your whole system. My advice: if you don't want to get into trouble using UT2, just use it as it is. - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.
September 3, 20169 yr After a more extensive investigation, I seem to have isolated the cause of the problem. I have been checking all of my imported files, and I have so far detected four with errors. It appears that errors in any of these stop UT2 from displaying any planes at all, because I have been copying them over in batches, and loading P3D to see if the planes appear. More and more planes are appearing as I install successive batches of flightplans, so this looks promising. The only drawback is that almost all of the planes are appearing in the Daedalus colour scheme! That probably indicates that I will need to assign the repaints all over again, but at least it's a start!! September 3, 20169 yr Do you mind reminding me why you need to update flight plans? I never do this. But I want to know what I have been missing  Is it to see the right liveries after all the mergers that has been going on? Some of my flightplans were four years old, so I just decided that I wanted to upgrade the oldest ones. These were all flightplans for Summer 2012, Winter 2012-2013, Summer 2013, and Winter 2013-2014. Other reasons for updating include new colour schemes, new plane types in the fleet (those 787s are getting popular), and new routes. I have updated roughly 80 airlines this time, added a handful of new ones, and deleted 25 airlines that have either ceased operating, no longer fly to and from the UK, or have been included in another set of flightplans (eg. KLM City Hopper and KLM). September 3, 20169 yr My advice: if you don't want to get into trouble using UT2, just use it as it is. Agree! After an uninstall/reinstall of UT2, 2013 schedules and Power Pack (the very latest) I appear to be back in action. Causes that may help others? Be careful with Power Pack added schedules, I fiddled about too much adding routes! Follow Elaine's install instructions very precisely. I am a very poor typist and no doubt my own typo errors caused issues. Finally, during the new install, I got an error box asking for the location of FSX. Now since I was reinstalling over Elaine's previously entered modifications,it seems I had entered an incorrect entry using notepad++. The interesting thing was, the error box then corrected the location error! Best regards, David.
September 3, 20169 yr Causes that may help others? Be careful with Power Pack added schedules, I fiddled about too much adding routes! I am not sure if this is an issue with P3D, but it seems to have been the source of the problem on my PC. I found four flightplans with errors, so I am currently in the process of reassigning my repaints a handful of airlines at a time, and checking to see if they are appearing in the simulator. I just hope that it works.....
