March 19, 201610 yr funny I asked the same question over at Orbx ,didn't receive any answer! further my library seems to shift around on its own,I have spent time arranging the scenery library as recommended on the Orbx forums only to find it has moved just by starting the sim, also I find that changing Orbx regions shift,s the library around, from what I read on the Orbx forums it is designed to do that Peter
March 19, 201610 yr LOL They have an ego the size of Texas over there at ORBX. Don't see that happening. Hey if it wasn't for ORBX we wouldn't have cloud shadows in P3D. I'm from Texas, BTW....and things do happen to be bigger here... all kidding aside, I have the ORBX global and vector and they are great. Jeff Callender
March 19, 201610 yr also I find that changing Orbx regions shift,s the library around, from what I read on the Orbx forums it is designed to do that Peter Hi Peter, Yes, that happens. For anyone else here's one of the posts about changed entries in scenery.cfg from the Orx forum. I was not aware of these changes occurring when shifting between Hybrid mode and full fat regions. http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/106066-fsx-scenery-list-regions-not-appearing/#comment-956628 I too have also seen the Library Insertion points not being honored and yes, just a download of the latest Orb libraries can screw the scenery entries list up. The moral of this story is to always do a backup via SCE before installing any Orbx updates or add-ons. Then you can recall your known working configuration and if needed just re-add the new Orbx entry (if there is one - new airport add-on) back in. For me this works. A little hassle involved but it beats having to re-order all your entries in scenery.cfg from scratch! I do hope Orbx solve this problem when they eliminate FTX Central v2. March 19, 201610 yr what annoys me is that as I get older I find that having set something up and feeling happy with my work,I then get really upset going back and finding all my good work has been changed, this makes me wonder what other things are being changed by other software causing issues that we simply have no knowledge of.a lot more than we think, please what is SCE ( did a Google search answer "Southern California Edison?") Peter
March 19, 201610 yr Moderator I just make a back up of my current scenery.cfg, the one that has everything in the order I like it, run the updated libraries, then overwrite the new messed up scenery.cfg with my old one. Takes a few seconds and I am back to normal. I agree with Pete though, that I hate that every time I install the latest libraries it reverts my scenery layers back to the way they want them. The scenery insertion point doesn't matter to me because I need to have the individual airports that I purchased from them above certain photoreal layers and one insertion point makes that impossible. March 19, 201610 yr I simply never use ftx central and never have a problem, just keep all my scenery layers in the same order, i never understood the reason for using that tool, i prefer to manually control my scenery with scenery config editor tool
