In that SunEffect.cfg file......what size do I need to make the Sun for it to work properly?

I think it depends on the file you're using for the sun?  If I recall I had mine set for in the 200s?

I honestly don't think the REX4 water textures/effects have been designed to really work with P3Dv3. I always find the water looks weird in v3 with REX water. In FSX it was great, but for P3D I've gone back to stock water.

What's the problem exactly? Not questioning your conclusion, just trying to see what the issue is.

I've compared the default with a few wave animations from REX4 and they look similar to me. They both get a little blurry/lose detail in the distance but they look OK. Can't really tell much of a difference between default and REX4, at least over OrbX scenery (which has its own ocean base textures).

REX used to have a water texture called 'flying high club', that gave a very good impression of the water when at high altitude (no wave animation anymore).

Unfortunately it is no longer in REX4.

My issue was that the water looked, at best, very weird.  Some of them looked like long rolling waves.  Some looked like wool.  None of them moved.  I tried the DX11 thing.  I didn't have my water set to ultra, though, which is something someone recommended.  I got my default water back.

Gregg how do you go back to default water from Rex?

I reinstalled my backup to my original P3D water from within REX4 Essential+.  I then unticked water features and just installed clouds.  So I'm back to default water.

Hi everyone,

There are many variables at play in regards to the water appearance. Are we talking about waves/animations or base textures here?

Here is a question I have:

Is this because we do not offer the ability to colorize water textures in REX 4 like we do in REX 3 Essentials?

I don't think so.  The water seemed to be strangely almost frozen and shaped unlike water on my sim...almost spikey waves on one of them.  I wish I had a picture.  Another seemed to be very, very long swells.  Someone told me I needed to change the water setting to Ultra, which I never do...I was running Medium.  Honestly, I was so focused on the shape of the water, I didn't even think about the color.  If I remember, the colors in REX 4 in FSX were mostly good.

To be honest the color is the reason I use default water. I really miss the option to change the water color in Rex. Really wished you guys would bring it back.
