November 11, 200520 yr Hi,Did you see this previev of the new MD-80 from Flight1?http://ultimatetraffic.flight1.net/forums/...1189&PN=1&TPN=1http://www.coolsky.no/sc/The panel is made by Espen, who also made that excellent F50 panel. That fact alone is enough to inderstand that this package will be great. :-)Happy landings,http://www.scandicair.com/images/as_banner.jpg Staffan
November 11, 200520 yr Yes indeed! I saw the MD80 about a month ago on their forum. I just havent heard any news about it lately. Glad to hear its getting close! :-hahThanks for the heads up! :-wave Chase Barnett
November 11, 200520 yr Commercial Member You can also see some fresh pictures here...http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_post...?TID=14313&PN=1Espen has worked very hard on this panel, and it is one of those planes for switch-and-system lover type pilots, in that it goes very deep in its design. It is mostly analog and has to be flown differently than modern glass aircraft.Terry Gaff did the visual model which will of course be up to his usual standards, and Jerry Beckwith worked his magic on the flight model. We will have a press announcement going out late today or in the morning with all the features. Thanks, Steve Halpern Flight One Software
November 11, 200520 yr Wow, I had no idea about this. Looks really interesting, especially the training guide. And I was thinking of getting the DF727.. :) Ian
November 11, 200520 yr SteveI have been looking for a really good advanced MD :-) Plus I am also getting a little bored with all singing and dancing press LNAV and VNAV then go away until it lands type of heavies ;-)I hope the VC is good and functional and that the frames are slick and smooth.Peter
November 11, 200520 yr :-jumpy :-jumpy Ok, my life is complete now. With the PMDG Boeings, the DF727, and now the MD80, I have all the airliners I could want. My only concern is: where is the AA livery?? :-)Mike
November 11, 200520 yr First thing I've heard about this...and it looks superb! Can't wait for this to come out :7 Nick Asus P5E3 Deluxe MOBO Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 CPU 3GHz L2 Cache 12MB 1333MHz LGA775 o/c'd @3.6GHz Tuniq Tower 120-Extreme CPU Cooler Zotac GeForce GTX 580 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 PC3-10600 Crucial Ballistix 1333MHz RAM 7-7-7-24 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1 x 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM SATA 6GB/s 32MB Cache OCZ 700GXS Sli 700W PSU Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 FSX (Acceleration + SP2)
November 11, 200520 yr As usual, superb work from Espen. I love the mix of analog instruments with RNAV nav system. Enough EFIS/FMC lets back to the basics!!
November 11, 200520 yr The Best news is that Espen is involved with this software ... quite honestly, I have derived more fun and pleasure from flying his freeware Fokker 50 than most other aircraft I have actually paid for. The Fokker 50 (along with the old Lago Maddog) spurred my interest and fascination with simming and the aircraft industry as a whole ... after many many many years of every release of flight sim imaginable since 1978 or so ...SO .. Good for Espen ... good for all of us ...I am a frequent flyer of the current Lago Maddog (which I really enjoy) and a periodic flyer of MDMAX (which I enjoy even though there is one lonely Alitalia livery!!!) but I'll make room in my hanger for this MD-80 since it has Espen's name attached!!! Otherwise I would have taken a pass I think ... all of a sudden a glut on the MD-80 sim market .... hahahahahaha ... Best of luck with this release ... I'm looking forward now!!!
November 11, 200520 yr Wow :-eekAt last, a decent MD-80 :D---------------------------------------"If it doesn't have a VC, I won't be flying it http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v615/DarrenA300/smug.gif" ... hang on a minute .... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v615/DarrenA300/unsure.gif ... that is too restrictive! Most flight simulator planes don't have a fully functional VC .... I'm happy to fly non-VC planes such as the brilliant iFDG range, Samdim's fantastic aircraft, POSKY's wonderful planes, and many many others! I'm the richer for it :). Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
November 11, 200520 yr I wish someone did an updated DC-9-series so I could have a cargo version. This looks nice though
November 11, 200520 yr It looks fantastic! But what no Alaska? The only reason to get an MD80 is for Alaska and American Airlines... Sheesh... :DOnly teasing, I don't know what they are going to offer as far as liveries....:DKevin
November 11, 200520 yr Al,This is a simple one .... get the Jet City DC-9's which include a freighter model ... and merge with Stellan Hilmersby's brilliant DC-9 panel ... does not get better than that.
