Sky Maxx Pro v3.3 is out

Featured Replies

Sky Maxx Pro v3.3 is out with the following changelog

What's New / Changed:

  • 50% less VRAM usage in cloudy conditions
  • Several performance improvements
  • Increased upper limit on cloud draw area setting
  • Improved cloud lighting
  • Improved cumulonimbus representation
  • Fixes crash with RWC and certain METAR reports

I have installed it and am seeing about a 10+ frame rate difference, but I installed rc3 at the same time, so it may be the combination, but whatever it is, it works.

too many versions, builds and RC's .

I got an automatic Steam Xplane update to v 10.50 Build 105008 64Bit.

Do I need this X-Plane 10.50 Release Candidate 3 (or any others) also?

I don't know the build number of RC3, but while running, if you go to the About section at the top of the screen, it will show whether you have RC3.  It only came out early yesterday and I don't know how long it takes Steam to update or even if they update every release.  I know they do not update the betas, but the release candidates are, as I understand it, released.  There were some address issues with the weather in the earlier build/builds.

Of course, you understand that you have to have purchased Sky Maxx Pro to receive their update. Just mentioning it in case there is a misunderstanding.

Same here. Performance of RC3 together with SkymaxxPro is outstanding.

Actually there IS an update to RWC because of a METAR source change.

Yes, the RWC update has been live for a few hours. Just download and install it, it will still say 1.0 but the "Always" function is restored with a new NOAA URL.

Currently giving X-Plane 12.10 a spin on Shadow PC. 10 years with X-Plane now, since 10.20

I went to the new version (RWC manual for info) and to the Xplane plugin to checkmark "Always" and I noticed:
Never Change Visible Weather not in Manual now but still active in the plugin (which I unchecked)?
Screenshot taken from a previous manual I got off internet.

Never ever update the Steam version with other updates from the non-Steam installer. It will break your installation and you need to verify your Steam cache afterwards to repair. (Since I do X-Plane ticket support for Aerosoft, I have the impression that 60% of all tickets are problems people get after applying non-Steam updates to the Steam version...)
