September 5, 20169 yr Author Hi, Guys, I thank you all for your suggestions and Chris for the link to Notepad++. I tried WebMaximus's suggestion to uninstall both SODE and LFMN and then reinstall both. The lines in the exe.xml file did not change. I did check the menu in P3D and it showed that SODE was there (V. 1.3.3). When I tested the DLL connection I got ,"[sODE] Jetway system is up and running." I assume there should have been some mention about lighting. "Reload all" didn't do anything for me. So at this point I decided to try to edit the xml file using Notepad++. My exe.xml file looked like this right after installation: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?><SimBase.Document Type="AceXML" version="3,0" id="exe"><Descr>AceXML Document</Descr><Filename>exe.xml</Filename> <Launch.Addon> <Name>SODE</Name> <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\12bPilot\SODE\SimObjectDisplayEngine.exe</Path> <CommandLine>P3Dv3</CommandLine></Launch.Addon><Launch.Addon><Name>Couatl</Name><Path>fsdreamteam\couatl\couatl.exe</Path></Launch.Addon><Launch.Addon><Name>XHT.APController</Name><Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\Aerosoft\AirportController\APController.exe</Path></Launch.Addon></SimBase.Document> The suggestion in the JustSim manual is to make sure these lines are in the file:<Launch.Addon><Name>SODE</Name><DisaЫed>False</DisaЫed><Manualload>False</Manualload><Path>SODE\SimObjectDisplayEngine.exe</Path></Launch.Addon></SimBase.Document> When I try to add those lines I get an error. Here is how the file looks before I try to save it:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?><SimBase.Document Type="AceXML" version="3,0" id="exe"><Descr>AceXML Document</Descr><Filename>exe.xml</Filename><Launch.Addon><Name>SODE</Name><Disabled>False</Disabled><Manualload>False</Manualload><Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\12bPilot\SODE\SimObjectDisplayEngine.exe</Path><CommandLine>P3Dv3</CommandLine></Launch.Addon><Launch.Addon><Name>Couatl</Name><Path>fsdreamteam\couatl\couatl.exe</Path></Launch.Addon><Launch.Addon><Name>XHT.APController</Name><Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\Aerosoft\AirportController\APController.exe</Path></Launch.Addon></SimBase.Document> When I actually save it, here are the contents of the file:"AceXML Document exe.xml SODE"When I leave out the line,"<DisaЫed>False</DisaЫed>" I don't get an error. In fact when I reopen the editor it still has the file loaded, but it indicates something is wrong with that one line and displays it thusly: "<Disa?ed>False</Disa?ed>." I tried replacing the word, "disabled," with "disable," but that didn't help either. Do any of you guys have a clue as to what the problem might be? I gotta' admit, I'm over my head here when it comes to editing xml files. Getting an airport to run shouldn't be this complicated, should it? Thanks, Tom
September 5, 20169 yr I've also had this issue. I emailed the developer and got no reply. I can confirm my scenery at night looks terrible.

September 5, 20169 yr Yes, I too got a very prompt reply when I contacted the developer so I would suggest sending another email and making sure you send it to the correct address. I found the email address on the product page. Another thing you could try is to get in touch with the developer of SODE since this indeed is an issue related to SODE.

September 5, 20169 yr While I am very happy with JustSim LFMN, I certainly agree that the centreline lights seem very dim when on the approach. To be fair, various aspects of the lighting on nearly all simulated airports, either default or add on, are not entirely realistic. Anyway, as it's a long time since I last flew into Nice I decided to have a look at some more recent videos. Videos are here: Rwy 04L https://www.youtube....h?v=hiMA8LGNcSw Rwy 22R https://www.youtube....h?v=l_1z7a1v8sE The 04 approach is interesting because it shows that the expectation of seeing the centreline from several miles out is incorrect. it appears that the centreline lights on Rwys 04 Left or right, become visible at about 2 miles in fairly clear conditions. In the sim I see them at around one mile. The second video, of an approach on Rwy 22R, shows the centreline lights much brighter in that direction. They come into the picture at about 2 miles on the turning approach, but would clearly have been visible much further out. John B
September 5, 20169 yr When I first installed this scenery, I had no runway lighting at night at all. I'm not sure what I did, but the problem automatically fixed itself. September 5, 20169 yr Nice video. Shows up the sim lighting very well. The real world videos I posted above seem to have dead links. I hope these work.Rwy 04L https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiMA8LGNcSw It shows how dim the real centreline lights are, coming into view at about 2 miles. Rwy 22R https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_1z7a1v8sE Note the much brighter centreline lights from this direction. John B
September 7, 20169 yr SODE Jetways are not implemented yet, if you're looking for this. Wait for the update later this year. Philipp Schwaegerl
September 7, 20169 yr SODE Jetways are not implemented yet, if you're looking for this. Wait for the update later this year. The SODE issues seem to be about lighting rather than Jetways, although it will be nice to have them implemented at some point. tooting, can you confirm if you had SODE installed on your system before installing LFMN. Some of us have found the LFMN installer has not installed SODE automatically. Not sure why. Anyway no SODE installation means no lights. If you do not have SODE already installed, go to the JustSim LFMN folder in P3D and click on it. You should then see a file marked Installer_SODE_v1.33. Run this file to execute the SODE install process. You should then have all the airfield lights working. John B
September 7, 20169 yr I have it installed you can see on the picture. alas no matter what airport I go to it always says no trigger-able objects.
September 8, 20169 yr You don't need to trigger the lights/PAPIs and you can't trigger it anyway. However, your picture is from a special view, can you confirm no lightning at all? Because I can clearly see some of the laps are glowing. If you have SODE (latest version is 1.3.4) and it shows up in the Add-on menu of your sim with a good .dll connection (you can test it), you should be good. Philipp Schwaegerl
