Small business jet for P3D v3?

Featured Replies

I bought the FSW today - about 20 bucks.  I instantly went for the revised panel textures and installed some of the addon liveries at their site - a lot better already!  Sounds are really good, hand flying is really nice too.  A good companion to the XPJ Lear 25

Ryan,

I just installed it and set up FSUIPC...

I did not find the revised panel textures (FSW.com area) ...?

Best Regards,

Vaughan Martell  PP-ASEL KDTW

Ryan,

Thanks ..for the link ...  I was there earlier and got the "repaint kit" .......

Which I wanted but I did not scroll down to where the texture was ....

I have not flown / landed yet ...

Do you happen to know if the reversers need an FSUIPC axes assignment ... I got the clam shells to Open/Close at the gate (quick test with a button assigned) but no throttle action .. some jets you advance throttles once in reverse .. is that true for this LJ. ?

I seen the rev thrust ARM on the glare shield to be set prior to landing.

Have been following these threads for some time now (small business jets) with the intention of getting the XP25D as I really was not impressed with the look of the panel graphics of the FSW 35A. I'm not all that happy with the Mustang either which I have. Although the panel itself looks good the flight deck looks cartoonish to me and lets the appearance down. I was flying it a lot however since I reinstalled P3D recently that aircraft is yet to be re installed.

The panel shot you have posted today Ryan has caught my eye & at the price could be well worth it however if the finish still looks iffy in areas I would still prefer to pay the extra for the 25D. The optimized parts issue is a bit of a bug bear although I expect that should be resolved soon one would hope.

Would love to see some more shots when you get time, & how's it on frame rates compared to the 25D?

Cheers, Ross

Hi Ross.  I just did a quick flight but plan a full flight from C+D tonite online.  Unfortunately XP11 beta just came out haha so I'm installing that as well.  And it's my only day off for the week, plus kids, spouse and if I have any time left I'll be able to post some shots :)

It's fps friendlier than the LJ25 - haven't checked VAS...  The panel update was just the panel. the rest of the plane is okay-ish.  The modelling isn't as nice as the Lear 25, I found the nacelles to be not completely round, I could see the polys in them on this Lear 35!  That's a little silly imo!  But I knew the graphics aren't going to be as good as the Lear 25.  I'll do a screenshot post and mini review of this FSW Lear (for fun, obviously it's been out for a while, but I like screenshots hehe)

Vaughan - I haven't had the time to check I'll try tonite.

Hi Folks,

And for "Takeoff" as well - as you want them available to STOP if needed...

I just posted a real world checklist in the Flysimware forum...

Also - the full real world Flight Manual (AFM) is available there as well (I don't have the link handy)...

You need to ping Al ("ark") your email address requesting both his LUA scripts and his fix for the "Indicator Panel"... They're a must...

The standard "Decrease Thrust Rapidly F2" should work on the reversers - once armed...

Best of luck and I hope I gave you a good steer...

Framerates are good on my i2700K @ 4.5Ghz...

Regards,

Scott

Scott,

Thanks for the additional information on the Checklist, Manual and Reversers (operation / setup).

I will get F2 "Decrease Thrust Rapidly F2" into FSUIPC (button in my throttle) next time I fly.

"I hope I gave you a good steer..." ,,, yes you did ..the FSWLJ35A looks real good and the panel (default and new texture) is a'lot easier to read that what I seen in the video ... which could have been my monitor / resoution / brightness etc rather than Dan's tutorial video.

I need to join their forum and do some reading there.

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Look forward to seeing your screenies when you get around to it.

Cheers, Ross

It's bedtime but I did a quick flight from VPS to TPA from Cold and Dark - here's a lot of pics and quick mini review Ross

Hi Vaughan,

LOL - sorry - no - right here on AvSim - in the "payware vendors" forum - there's one for Flysimware...

Hi Ryan,

Nicely done review - especially for after midnight - and your pictures are far better than the ones on the Flysimware site as well... It nice seeing an opinion from someone that has both planes... I'm sure you'll get it all figured out by the light of day - I'll gladly share the pointers I've learned using the AP...

Scott

Scott,

Thanks for the follow up on the forum you used.

The FSW A/P is working well for me.

Best to get it all trimmed up and on speed before making any A/P selections.

Got some training doing that in e.g. PMDG737 .. if not trimmed up the A/P will not even engage!

Best Regards,

Vaughan Martell  PP-ASEL KDTW

Hi Vaughan,

Yeah - I'm still learning the plane as well - things just happen so fast on takeoff - I'm using a lot of macros to make things a bit easier...

Here is a flight I posted last Sunday night - real IMC - wind - percip - ice - into the heart of the Adirondacks...
