Yes you can. I'm using Envtex with as16/asca and so far so good!

Isn't it that you can edit how many SKY texture sets you can load in ASCA regardless of mode its in? (that's the case in beta at least)

Quote from Damian :

"To further clarify: Global Automatic can provide more absolute variation during a flight, since it can have dozens of changes of texture styles throughout a given session depending on wx conditions. Full Dynamics is fixed with approximately 8 variations which are associated to specific cloud models/types.

For example, in FD mode, to the west you may have Cumulus Humilis 3/8 "v2" variation which is associated to "Silk" cloud textures, while to the easy you may have Cumulonimbus Incus 3/8 "v4" variation which is associated to "Revolve" cloud textures.

Compare this to scenario to GA mode, where to the west and east you have the same "Satin" cloud textures overlayed over both cloud model types. This is a simplification of course, as any given scene can have many different models/cloud structure varations."

finally downloaded it along with p3d v3, active sky 16 and cloud art. What a mess, nothing works now. error messages all over the place. very frustrating and exactly what i feared. should have taken my own advice.

Guys - this is a thread for Envtex - I'm moving your posts to the Here we go again thread so we can keep it all together. Please keep THIS thread for Envtex .

Thanx,

Hi Bosflo,

If you meet an issue please post it here and we will be here to help: http://togaprojects.proboards.com/

There are already 2 hotfixes for low resolution screens issues with the user interface and some minor bugs.

Hi,

You can find the suneffect.cfg file in Drive ( C or D or .. ) / Program Data / Lockheed Martin / Prepar3D

Just read the manual and I have a question :

- I am using ASCA set to Global Automation as Full Dynamics only uses 8 texture sets. How many texture sets will be added to Full Dynamics by you rprogram ?

Regards,

Hi Gerard,

First thanks for the reminder, I was not sure if the v2 file was located at a similar place as v3 or inside the main sim folder like FSX. This is, I think the only thing we need to consider a P3D v2 compatibility, we will look into it but we are already looking at expanding our compatibilty range to other simulators.

About ASCA's full dynamics, I think there is a misunderstanding about Hifi's explanation. From what we understood during our discussion with Damian, the number of sky textures is unlimited in both Full dynamics and Global automatic. This seem to be confirmed by our testing phase as we have been able to use our presets in both modes. Thus I think the 8 textures limit concerns only clouds.

By the way, I saw that you found our sky textures too much satured but remember it also depends on the HDR settings (and that can also be changed from PTA if you wish to make some adjustements).

Also guys, if some of you wish to see something that can be enhanced or added, don't hesitate to post your suggestions here. Envtex is a continuous development project, we can't promise we will answer positively to all request but we will do our best to consider all of them seriously: http://togaprojects.proboards.com/board/6/envtex-feedbacks-requests

Hope you all are enjoying !

Great to see the developers of Envtex are that helpfull.

Regarding myself I thought that it would make ASCA Full Dynamics use their new cloud textures too ( even when FD limits cloud Texture sets to 8 per flight ) and that question still stands...

here's a few for you:

Some beauties in there.  One thing that always gets my goat in all of the precip effects.  Some dev really needs to stand outside and look at rain.  It's largely invisible.  Our eyes might see a momentary flash of a drop going past and we often look at puddles and drips from overhangs to see if it's raining.  Maybe P3D isn't capable of producing those kinds of effects...not sure.

Wow, those are amazing colours.  Great pics.  Buying this tonight as I've just returned from a few days away.

I saw that TOGA team released freeware preset for PTA to be used with ENVTEX. Is this alternative to modified cloud shaders or can they be used together?

Can someone tell if those 60 sky presets for ASCA GA/FD have to added one at the time or is there a way to add them all together...?

And if I only want the Oceanic skycolors for ASCA is this possible ?

Just read the manual but it does not say that..

Thanks,

Yeah, I think they could use a little tutorial on that.  I am pretty sure it's the default.  If you check the checkbox you can look on the right side where the pictures are and find the one for sky textures.  I think Random means install them all.  There are other selections for seasons which, I guess, only installs a subset.

Oh, and, by the way, they already have their checkboxes set for the various conditions inside ASCA so there's nothing really to do once they're installed.  Just fly.

Help is appriciated..
