Eaglesoft SR22 is out

Featured Replies

Anyone get it yet? I am a bit hesitant to because I only get good results on my widescreen with the VC, and I have heard the SR20 is pretty tough on framerates.Full Avidyne Entegra setup, which is pretty #### cool . . .

Flying her now. She is pretty easy on the framerates on my system, until I turned on the weather and then my clouds dropped my framerates in half. So, with limits at 20fps and no weather (CAVU), I'm seeing a consistent 17-18fps internal, external and vc.My system:P4 2.8ghz1gb ramATI Radeon 9800 ProSome screenshots:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=220797&page=

Took my first maiden flight tonight...what an aircraft.I didn't think it would perform that much better than the 20...but man...I was cruising at 180 knots @ 10,000...and got to 10,000 ft in less than 6 minutes. Amazing.Yea, the framerates are bit less than the *revised* 20, but I can fix that a bit with ATI Tray Tools ;)The is worth the bucks IMO. A really neat plane...another nice job from the team at Eaglesoft.

Quote from a satisfied customer may help.:-)"All I can say is "Wow". If its got a frame rate hit I can't find it. Performs well across the envelope. I especially like the feeling in the flare - very responsive elevator without being at all twitchy. The new Avidynes are a significant improvement over the SR20, which was pretty good in its own right. And beautiful? Oh, yeah."

We were going to refer you to the screenshots and descriptions on our site but it seems the entire host network just dropped out. Can't even access their home site at the moment. At any rate, the site has alot of information so you may access it whenever they get it up again.:-)

>would someone mind posting the feature-set differences>between the Avidyne 20 & Avidyne 22?>>Thanks>DaveI'm sure Ron can spell them all out fairly quickly...but I believe you can obtain your answers at: http://www.eaglesoftdg.comThe 22 is more complete and up-to-date with Avidyne's Version 6 software (IIRC). I have both, and am just learning all the differences, but the most immediate changes you notice are the addition of a Flight Director, and the inclusion of much more 'situational' and engine/fuel data in front of your eyes on both the MFD and PFD.....But the performance difference are quite surprising, and just as appealing to me. That said, I do think there will still be times when the 20 will be more appropriate to 'jump in', and as I understand from Ron, Eaglesoft is also looking at a substantial revision to the 20 over the next few months. As far as frame rates, I did see a minor drop, but there is probably a variety of reasons for that, and it wasn't dramatic. I run at pretty high quality levels, and also run Active Sky all the time...so...I changed Active Sky (the new version 6! ;) ) over to 'high level' DXT texturing and that seemed to help a lot.Note: For whatever reason, I cannot seem to get into the Eaglesoft site this morning...don't know if it's just me or not.

Sound like a winner ron. Expect some cash from me this week - I have to "re-gift" all these Starbucks gift cards I got this holiday :-D

Just heard from the host...major DNS attack to the entire backbone..they are working hard to get everyone back up:-(

Also, the SR20 is *MUCH* easier on frames after the service release...

The SR20 worked well for me before the patch, and even smoother for me after.I am very pleased with the SR22 as well. Flys very well from the VC,and the extra power of the larger engine is great. I am very pleased with what I have seen so far. Looks like another great release!Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]BEVBetaSig.jpg
