February 15, 20179 yr Just checking out some of the visual features in the new X-Plane. Looks pretty decent. Yeah... guess it does. Just one little thing - trees look kinda weird. From close at least. How's the performance ? FreeMeshX Global & P3D Tweak Assistant (PTA) plus a bit of orbx magic
February 15, 20179 yr Good shots. This scenery is fantastic. Just one little thing - trees look kinda weird. From close at least. Yes its something to do with the lighting, when trees are lit from behind. I hope this get fixed as it looks terrible.
February 15, 20179 yr Excellent shots! Yes its something to do with the lighting, when trees are lit from behind. I hope this get fixed as it looks terrible. I saw this comment from Ben in the dev blog "I think so – I have a short list of major artifacts (sky banding, glowing trees) to try to get to before final."
February 15, 20179 yr I saw this comment from Ben in the dev blog Thanks for that. When complete and these bugs squashed its going to be amazing.
February 15, 20179 yr Author Yeah... guess it does. Just one little thing - trees look kinda weird. From close at least. How's the performance ? Yeah, just like in P3D, they are essentially flat "sheets" of semi-transparent textures, so they look a bit weird when shadows are cast on them. The lighting will probably also be improved by the time XP11 final comes out, as mentioned already. Frame rate is about 23-24 FPS on the ground and around the airport, 30+ FPS farther away. That's with most settings maxed. -
February 15, 20179 yr Man I hope X-Plane gets more scenery of this quality. The sim is gorgeous out of the box but this is a whole new level. Great shots! Will Korb
