Almost - it's like being a kid waiting for Christmas isn't it?  We've just had a nice three-day weekend here in the UK.  Such a shame they didn't set the release for Friday 26th May.  Would've had a great three days of playing.

The real wait will start when you pay your money, and find out that the server went down due to the thousands of people trying to download V4 all at once.

Since I will almost certainly require a GPU with significantly more VRAM than my 2GB GTX770, I will not be purchasing on day one. However, I am really looking forward to reading reports from all of you. The popcorn is ready

I'm sitting in an airport terminal heading to Houston, so won't be able to get my hands on V4 until I return home Friday.

At least I'll avoid the probable heavy load on LM's servers from the initial download rush this afternoon!

While we're all waiting, maybe someone in the know can tell me if I can have both V3 and V4 installed simultaneously on my PC?

Is LM going to continue to support V3, or is it superseded by  V4?

Its getting nearer and nearer. A lot of uncertainties and unanswered questions remain. Nevertheless, we shall hold hands and face this new dawn together.

It's been a while so I can't remember the installation process.
Assuming v4 is the same as v3, do you download a a small management app that then downloads everything else, or do we download the whole caboodle in one go ?

Steps to Download and Install Prepar3D v4,  In this order  (Same as v3)

First,  Insure you have at Least 12 gigs of free space on your C-Drive Operating System,  You can Install v4 on an Drive you like but you will still need this extra space for the Repair Installers on your C-Drive

1)  Use a Download Manager to download the v4 file,  They are free and will aid in a successful download

2)  Use a proper Extract tool to Extract the Zipped folder,  Something like 7zip,  Its free and this tool will tell you if your download is bad

3)  Add the Prepar3D_Setup.exe from inside your download folder to your Exclusions Zone of your Antivirus Software  (Important)

4)  Disable UAC (User Account Control)  Drag down to Never Notify

5)  Right Click on Prepar3D_Setup.exe and Run as administrator

If you intend to Install 3rd Party Software (Add On's) for Prepar3D v4,  You will be best to Install Outside of the default Install Location "Program Files"

You can Click Options during the Install process,  Create and Name a folder and Install v4 there

(Insure you have enough space to Install v4 in this location)

Is this new with v4?  Was never a concern with v3.

Hello Chris,

Its no concern at all,  Its been the very same since Prepar3D version 1.4

Only In an extreme case,  The Installer will abort during the Install process due to space Issues on your C-Drive
