Taxi2Gate sceneries v4 compatible?

Are you aware of any of them installing files outside of the scenery's main directory? I have a number of them installed in FSX, and if it is just a matter of copying them over to v4 and adding with Addon Organizer, I'll take a shot. I have the following in FSX:

In P3D you can put the elements of Scenery anywhere on your HD/SSD. You just to need to correctly line items into the scenery.cfg. I don't use XML method as it's still a bit complicated. For any of T2G sceneries I did the following.

1. Run and extract the main installer into any location of your HDD.

2. Run all the updates from T2G Websites.

3. Put all the effects into P3D/Effects folder.

4. Run Scenery Configurator (SC) https://sourceforge.net/projects/fs-sceditor/

5. Using SC add a path to the TERRAIN part of specific scenery first (it's important to have TERRAIN in a lower priority)

6. Using SC add a path to the SCENERY part of specific scenery.

7. Make sure that numbering of Areas is in order.

8. Done, you're good to go!

I didn't really want to mess with those Simmarket installers, but I'm doing it now. With a simple copy over, SEA didn't look so hot. There are terrain issues. Scenery is on top of terrain, so there must be other files beyond the main scenery folder.

Does Add-on Organizer do the same thing as Scenery Config Editor?? The link shows a application for FS2004/FSX.

I think so. With FSX, I did everything manually in the scenery.cfg, so Addon Organizer is the first product I have used for that task. Either way, Addon Organizer gets the job done.

Ok, I installed the ones mentioned above using the most recent installers from Simmarket (if only they required developers to include version numbers in their file names). I then applied relent updates from T2G's site. All were installed to a temp location and copies over to v4. I did a quick spin in slew mode just to see what things look like to YMMV. It is worth noting that I also have FTX PNW, Global Base and NA LC installed. Here is what I found. Black Autogen is a big issue with a few of them. Of course, this is not much of an issue at night. Also, especially with the older stuff, the low res ground textures look terrible.

TLPC: Day - black autogen, elevation issue at runway threshold, Night - N/A

TKPK: Day - black autogen, Night - N/A

KMCO: Day - no obvious issues, Night - no approach lighting or runway lights

KSTL: Day - no obvious issues, Night - no obvious issues

MHTG: Day - Looks like there are some minor elevation issues near the runway, but it is hard to tell with this scenery, Night - N/A

MMIM: Day - Seems about the same as it was in FSX, Night - N/A

MMMX: Day - black autogen, Night - no additional issues

KSEA: Day - no obvious issues, Night - large floating streetlights crossing runways where underpass is (I think these are coming from FTX?)

VHHH: Day - no obvious issues, Night - some flickering on terminal; dirt piles are well lit, so that's nice

LTBA: Day - black autogen, Night - no obvious issues

LZIB: Day - no obvious issues, Night - no obvious issues

I only tried TKPK and also got black autogen buildings...the airport and surrounding look great though. Not going to try the others. Thanks for trying them out and reporting back. I guess I will wait and see if we get v4 installers.

Make sure effects files are ported over too. OTHH can have black buildings without .fx files for example

They are. Only one of them actually required effects. All other were pretty standard. I'm guessing that T2G were placing default FSX autogen that are not the same as P3D autogen.

Yes, that makes sense. I have only installed OTHH so far.

My issue is missing runway & approach lights at KSEA & TFFR. I used the latest installers.

I do see the approach light issue at KSEA. The towers are there but they are not lit.

What about your runway lights?

It depends on the runway. Looking closer, the approach lights are different as well. For example, 34C is the only runway with edge lights and approach lighting. 34L has some of the approach lights but not all the towers are lit. 34R is the onlt one with touchdown zone lights.

For these two sceneries the installer installs some additional textures in the main Textures folder that for some reason don't install into Prepar3d. I had FSX installed when i bought them so I made a backup copy of those texture files that I manually place in when i install P3D. If its allowed I can upload a zip with the missing textures for those two.
