Got my eye on Just Flight Piper Warrior

We'll be releasing a small update next week to improve the FDE realism based on feedback, increase the flap lever movement etc, and then a demo will be available so you can try the aircraft yourself.

Thanks

I have quite a few real life hours in the Warrior 2. Can't imagine anything more realistic feeling than the A2A Cherokee.

Yes for a Cherokee I agree bob but you must know that it doesn't handle like the warrior you tried.

Just had a quick circuit or two and so far it seems great! Flap lever animation is spot on now, rpm drop on mag check is much improved and it balloons upwards nicely when deploying flaps which you can compensate for nicely if you have flaps assigned to an analogue lever and lower them in a coordinated way.  Have now done a few circuits and touch and goes and I'm really liking this.

Couple of minor points, I think it maybe just a tad overpowered, I added my not inconsiderable bulk to the pilots seat and felt it climbed a bit harder than I would expect using 2 stages of flaps and 65kts, I was able to hold a much steeper angle. Also the ball takes far too much rudder to keep centered on full power. I had to use so much rudder that it was starting to roll me and I had to counter with opposite yoke. This was all at 65kts and could be linked to excess engine power? As airspeed increases this reduces but I felt that full power climbs under 80kts require too much rudder and can be held too steeply.

Lastly, nice that it balloons up with the flaps but maybe once stable it is a bit nose high with the flaps down. It should lift the nose but once trimmed it should then have a nose down attitude. This is hard to tell after a quick few flights as it depends on zoom and seat position so I'm happy to admit I'm wrong with that one.

Hey I'm happy with it anyway, its great! I feel bad criticising it, I'm really just nit picking here!

Thanks Martyn and Just Flight for listening to community feedback and reacting. Good work guys! :)

I have flown 3 different Warriors over the years, and the A2A Cherokee gives me the same sensation of actually flying that the real aircraft does. In addition, the detail in this aircraft is outstanding.

I agree Bob, a2a capture the sensation of flight perfectly and you cannot fault the flight model. The attention to all the fine details and accurate modelling are second to none. I own pretty much all a2a's aircraft and enjoy the Cherokee.

My only disappointment with it was that it wasn't a warrior, so it didn't behave like a warrior. I've been hoping for a good warrior for years and finally we have one!

Seems to be a rocket this Warrior 160 hp !

Version SP1.

I agree.  V1 was far too fast to accelerate on the take off roll, for my experience in Warriors (25 hours).  And surprisingly, it seems even faster in SP1.   This is possible the "fastest to 60kts" aircraft in my hanger.    @Martyn JF - could you perhaps feed this back to the team.  The performance numbers seem good from climb onwards but something is amiss as the Warrior accelerates to 60kts faster than F16

(Most tests I have done have been with 50% fuel, but even with 100% fuel, take off roll to 60kts seems far too fast).

@vbazillio's video above highlights this perfectly.   Watch the ASI when he applies full power and watch how quickly he's at 60kts and rotating.   A 160hp PA28 should take longer to build up airspeed than that.

Thanks.

Not sure how many people would find this of interest...A range of normal paint schemes with both European and American registrations would be far more useful and desireable, I should think.

Does anyone know of any repaints available for this aircraft??

Well, since there is a paint kit included, there is nothing stopping anyone from creating their own paint jobs. Why not have a go yourself?
