I think not I have been thinking of upgrading my GTX 980 to a 1080. Mainly for DCS, which regularly uses all the 4gb GPU RAM and runs the 980 at 100% load, all the time. Has anyone ever observed P3d using more than 3 Gb GPU RAM when running the simulator? Even with all the settings maxed out? I ask because I have never seen P3d use more than 2.8Gb on my system, at any time. Also the GPU load never goes over 80%. Perhaps those with an 8 Gb GPU see a larger memory use, if the cards asynchronous computing feature comes in to play? At the moment, I can not really justify a GPU upgrade for P3d alone! Unless someone can see the sim using more video RAM? Regards David
September 20, 20178 yr Author I have installed my new GTX 1050TI with Windows 10, and I am VERY pleased with the results!!! Default P3D V4 with Carenado aircraft I am getting 70 FPS in the day, super smooth. With Flightbeam's new KMSP, I am getting 35-40 FPS. At night with Dynamic lighting I am getting around 30 fps. Very surprised by the results!

Very surprised by the results! I barely get that with a 1070 with medium settings, something isn't adding up here. Either your sim looks like word not allowed with little to no autogen and the sliders almost full left or there's some voodoo going on with your computer...

No ground textures, or cloud. Both Autogen and Vegetation were at dense. My aircraft was one of the carenado ones that comes with the sim.

September 20, 20178 yr Got the 1070 and as I run tubesliners I do not really care for autogen buildings, but like to see loads of trees. So al sliders are maxed out except for autogen buildings. In the PMDG NGX I still get 30 locked with 100% AI traffic and ORBX Base, OpenLC, England and Vector. Add 5 cloud layers via ACA and AS16 and your PC will have a challenge. Never would have been possible with the 970 I used before. Maarten Otto
September 20, 20178 yr Author At Night with PMDG 737NGX at Flightbeam KMSP. With dynamic lighting 31 FPS. Very happy with this, I recommend the 1050 TI to anyone else looking to upgrade!!! AI traffic at 40%
September 20, 20178 yr 2 1070 GTX in SLI work peachy. Mine are factory superclocked EVGA Best-Buy specials with 8Gb. A 1080Ti may do the same. September 21, 20178 yr Author I am curious to know the performance with a 1080 Ti Frame Rate wise.. because so far I am more than delighted with the performance from the 1050 Ti.

I have both in two similar but different systems. The FPS are the same on both systems BUT the settings on the 1050ti are much lower. With the same settings, the 1050ti suffers but it's not entirely the card's fault Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
