September 14, 20178 yr I'm definitely the minority here but my MSI R9 390x with 8 Gigs of Vram have been working flawless for me:)
September 14, 20178 yr Author The 1050 Ti is like $150 cheaper than the 1060.... I don't wanna get the 1050 if Ill have terrible performance with things like Dynamic Lighting...
September 16, 20178 yr Author Got the GTX 1050 Ti! + Windows 10 Upgrade. Going from my 6 year old GTX 560 I think this will be a good upgrade lol

September 16, 20178 yr Dynamic lighting has some bugs in the current version of P3Dv4. I am not using that feature at all at the moment. How I Evaluate Third Party Sim Addon Developers Refined P3Dv5.0 HF2 Settings Part1 (has MaddogX) and older thread Part 2 (has PMDG 747)

September 16, 20178 yr The 1050 is the least-capable GPU in the current NVidia lineup, which is why it is the least expensive. As with all NVidia cards, the last two numbers in the model designation are the key. An older GTX 980 or even 970 will massively outperform a brand new 1050. In P3D Version 4, the processing power and onboard VRAM of the GPU is more important than ever before. I'm not saying that you have to use a 1080 Ti, but a 1050 would be marginal at best. If you are not using a 4K monitor, a 1060 would be better, and a 1070 more than adequate. Now if you are coming from a very old 500 series GPU, then the 1050 would be an improvement. Im well aware that the the 1060 and 1080 are more capable. But the 1050 ti was very highly rated and seemed to be the best for someone who's on a budget. Not everyone can afford a $900 1080 Ti. (which is beyond ridiculous)

You'll probably get 3-5 frames more from the Win 10 upgrade on top of your hardware boost. And another 2-3 frames running in Game Mode. Hit (WINkey + G) once you're on the tarmac.

(which is beyond ridiculous) GTX 1080 Ti prices are down to about $750 now at most vendors. Considering the amount of raw computing power that GPU has, that is probably a very reasonable price. I do understand that you're on a budget. It's not that the 1050 Ti is not useable for V4 - it will work, but there will definitely be limits to your frame rates and maximum texture resolution. September 16, 20178 yr Personally FPS are not a big issue for me. I have them locked to 25FPS and have never seen any real difference between my 25 to and say 60 FPS. In fact I find the lower locked FPS gives me a far smoother experience as the processor and GPU has far less work to do. I use to have a GTX 660 and looking at Process Explorer the GPU load would be a constant 100%. After switching to the 1050ti it's only ever around the 50-60% and will reach around the 90's with extreme cloud coverage in ASP4. September 16, 20178 yr The cheapest 1080Ti prices on Amazon UK are around £700. You will never see me pay that kind of money for a graphics card unless I win the lottery jackpot.
