April 15, 200620 yr Hey guys,,,I'm looking for the best L-1011 out there with a Delta livery. Freeware or payware...either way. If your recommendation does not come with a panel, what panel do you recommmend? Thanks!
April 15, 200620 yr Erick Cantu has his L1011-100 in beta right now and it's fully fliyble. The only livery right now is Eastarn, but that should change sometime in the future. The model flys beautifully; detail is what you'd expect from Erick. Give it a shot and see what you think. I don't have the Aerosim L1011 so I can't compare, but I've very happy with Erick's.Cheers,Bob
April 15, 200620 yr Eric Cantu's tristar is great freeware. The Aerosim bird is the bomb though. Great VC, nice cockpit and great airplane. Well worth the money if you want to spend time in the cockpit of a big 3 holer. AND
April 15, 200620 yr And as they say, quite close to release is this one here (sorry, text in German) :http://www.fsquality.com/Produkte/Tristar.htmlMike
April 15, 200620 yr I have been waiting along time for Pilots TriStar to come out. Hopefully it will. I had purchase some of their software for earlier FS products. In the past they made really great one. We see if they release it and how good it is.Charles
April 15, 200620 yr Author Lets not mess about ...there is only one Tristar and that is the one by Aerosim.:-kewl regardsEd My FS9 Videoshttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/edetroit100/holy.gifAMD Athlon 64 3500+, 1024Mb PC3200 DDR, 300Gb HD 128Mb DDR Nvidia 6600GT PCI Express, Audigy 2 ZSCH Products Yoke, Pedals and Throttle Quadrant My FS Videos
April 15, 200620 yr Ed:Can you tell me more about the AeroSim L1011? I am no way knocking either one of them, just interested in first hand impressions would be very useful to me as its a great plane.Charles Huckelbery
April 16, 200620 yr Great package, excellent VC both day and night...http://www.aerosim.co.jp/eigo/a-product_e/fs2004_e.htmBare in mind that the aircraft offered from Aerosim are 'lite' aircraft (non-Hardcore). For what they are most find them very enjoyable (with the exception of a couple of lemons in the package. 727/737/DC8)... April 16, 200620 yr Totally agree. I looked at the product shots of that german produced version and saw nothing I didnt already have. There are a bunch of nice skins available for both the Dash 100 and 500 and the ADV. Thing that makes me loyal to aerosim though is their responsiveness and continous updates.Eric AND
April 16, 200620 yr I'm sure Ed won't mind me posting this shot :-lolhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/147277.jpgThe Aerosim version has a near-perfect shape .... I can't fault it :) Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
April 16, 200620 yr Author >The Aerosim version has a near-perfect shape .... I can't>fault it :)Absolutely agree! .. I am not a gmax modeller but I'm guessing modelling the nose on any a/c is extremely difficult. Now I would never have expected any modeller to have ever got the L-10,s nose correct but Aerosim have got it absolutely perfect and then some ....possibly the most accurately modelled nose in FS!Hello Charles , with the Aerosim you get a choice of three varientsL-1011-500, L-1011-100 and L-1011-100 Advanced (I call it a 250)All of which come with VC/noVC and wingview options. Then add to that the only FMS/INS out there....add a nice FDEadd to that amongst the best support out there. For those who wish to wait another couple of years for the Pilots version ....you know you will be using the far better looking Aerosim model! :-lolThis little pic is all I have left of my Stargate paint :(I will have to paint her again one day.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/147278.jpg regardsEd My FS9 Videoshttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/edetroit100/holy.gifAMD Athlon 64 3500+, 1024Mb PC3200 DDR, 300Gb HD 128Mb DDR Nvidia 6600GT PCI Express, Audigy 2 ZSCH Products Yoke, Pedals and Throttle Quadrant My FS Videos
April 16, 200620 yr Ed,no doubt the Aerosim L-1011 is a beautiful model. But how deep is the system simulation ? Are all features of the FMS/PMS simulated ? Can the Autoland deal with Crosswind ? Mike
April 16, 200620 yr Author Hello Mike, yes I required a little more systems wise so I got busy myself. :-hah (the panel is not available at the mo' )When it comes to autoland ... I like to handfly my landings ..esp the difficult ones! :-kewlhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/147289.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/147290.jpg regardsEd My FS9 Videoshttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/edetroit100/holy.gifAMD Athlon 64 3500+, 1024Mb PC3200 DDR, 300Gb HD 128Mb DDR Nvidia 6600GT PCI Express, Audigy 2 ZSCH Products Yoke, Pedals and Throttle Quadrant My FS Videos
April 16, 200620 yr Ed, and all, that looks VERY nice, but what can *I* expect regarding system simulation, if I'd buy it ? You know e.g. the RFP 747 and some Russian hardware, where does the Aerosim Tristar stand regarding this ?>> When it comes to autoland ... I like to handfly my landings Ok, but I still would like to know ! The real McCoy is known to be a real smooth 'Autolander' at almost all sorts of weather conditions. It's said it was even better than e.g. the 767. And what about the FMS/PMS completeness ? Any takers ?Don't misunderstand me, I just want to get the 'picture' about the Aerosim plane. I still don't have that picture yet, other than it looks good.Mike
