For me the many assumptions (based on some screenies) and the few receptive reading of some people are destroying the informational values of all the "Skyforce"-Threads these days. Hope its getting better in the next days

And it‘s your kind of useless comments that are just destroying any willingness to share comments that might be insightful at least for some people. Maybe you could just keep those comments to yourself.

I have read now over and over, but haven't got the answer right now about this product.

It seems the common sense now is, that the SF weather engine isn't very good. Ok.

But what is now about the dynamically injection in use with ASP4?

I fear, many people haven't even understood how ASP4 and ASCA work with dynamic textures - at least what I see from the screenshots.

So, the question is:

Does SF3D work dynamically in the same way like ASCA or does it just inject one weather texture set?

If someone is 100% sure that it also works like ASCA in Global Automatic or Full Dynamic mode, then please provide or point me to some screenshots or videos, please.

many thanks

Yes it does. I did 5 flights yesterday with SF nad ASP4 with SYNC on and the cloud appearence was as with Full Dynamics/Global automatic in ASCA. I am not at the machine right now for a video..But you must be able to find a lot.. there ia also oa good FB group about P3D where you can see a lot of pics and videos.

But it only says "structures" not "textures" as you fly...

Still confusing. It would be better to have hard facts by the developer than speculations...

First of all, it's pretty clear (from reading the manual and the response from the REX team at their forum) that SkyForce 3D dynamically injects cloud models and structures not textures!
Again, textures (Cloud, sky etc) are static, from the theme you picked when setting SkyForce 3D up. The cloud models and structures are dynamic.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't work this way. Because the weather engine draws the clouds (or at least tells the sim to draw them). At this point, the textures must be there. They cannot be replaced once drawn in the sim. So the textures must be there first for the weather engine to draw them.

I can understand your skepticism - actually I was skeptic at first as well, but when I tried it, it does actually do exactly that! The cloud structures and models are present with AS16 as weather engine and SkyForce 3D running on the side. SkyForce 3D injects cloud models and structures dynamically (NOT textures - those are static! That's for EnvironmentForce to do).

I don't know how exactly this works, but I would presume, that SkyForce is injecting the cloud models and structures for making it available for the weather engine in P3D. After all, SkyForce 3D has METAR data too. AS16 then tells the weather engine API in P3D what to draw and where, and the P3D weather engine does this, utilizing the cloud models and structures (and static textures) from REX.

Again, I'm only speculating about how this is done - but it is done - and it works very well. This isn't 'just' placebo.

I can live without shared comments based on assumptions and wild guessing, i fail to see something insightful in them. Too high chances for misinformations, thats how "alternative facts" are born :anonymose:
