In the library now:http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=85880Now, I am a satisfied owner of the PMDG -400, but, these guy(s) deserve a round of applause for sticking with this project. The list of fixes is impressive indeed.I may just have to download after the rush is over to give it a look anyway, great stuff.

These guys deserve an award of achievement from Avsim for this outstanding work of freeware.... I never thought that I'd ever see a glass cockpit airliner panel recreated with this high level of detail and complexity get released as freeware. The fine gentlemen who developed this fantastic package are all Chinese, so I think I'll celebrate the release of this first iFly 747-400 patch by eating out at a fine Chinese restaurant, as there are a lot of fine Chinese restaurants here in San Diego.... P.F. Chang's China Bistro comes to mind. ;)Regards,

I also have PMDG747, but I have reicently come in contact with a lot of new flightsimmers interested in vatsim...I told them there were a few things they HAD to download and all of them were free...Squawkbox 3 for connecting to VatsimFSUIPC for obvious reasonsand iFly 747-400 for being able to navigate and use proper procedures.iFly 747-400 is hands down the BEST aircraft simulation freeware available without doubt! their continued support, as evidenced by the latest patch is astounding. These guys have a far better product than some of the payware companys out there, they diserve tonnes of credit...Hats off to them for an EXCELLENT piece of software!

guys,I tried this plane back when it came out. I love th detail and all the great stuff they included, all great. I have a low end machine (ok, bottom end) PIII800, 512M PC133 SDRAM, WIN98SE, FX5600XT 256M VRAM. I never got any kind of acceptable frame rates. I do get between 15 and 30s with other planes including POSKY.Question: Does anyone with PIII have this plane running with FPS = 10 or better? Also, does the update help frame rates? Thanks guys.Earl

I agree this is a very good freeware 747. Even better now with the patch. However with a P4 3.4ghz and 1Gram I still have problems with frame rates in 2D. The VC is great but the 2d panel is a hog on FPS at least on my system.Carl

Sure is a fine freeware package. The only fault is the small forward view window, much smaller than the PMDG747 and they haven't improved the FPS with the patch. All in all though, the most technical freeware out there atm and I love that initial texture.Dave T. .........On the Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/http://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/c130/c130_captain.gifhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg

Hello All,Well, I tried it when it first came out, and sort of put it on the back burner as although it was pretty neat, I was very involved with the PMDG 747.Well, now the patch . . .seems that it works fantastic, as I am in the middle of a 8hr flight and so far, Capt iFly has flown a perfect flight so far.Talk about a great, artistic and tech marvel for freeware! Wow, I'm pretty impressed as with the exception of the PMDG, this is the finest 747 anyone has done, and for free, it sort of surpasses the PMDG because of the lack of dollars being spent.Hats off to you young fella's from China -- a real first class simulation aircraft which you can be very proud of. Knowing it ranks right up there with the best payware is quite a compliment.Best to allClayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Thanks to you guys here, I've downloaded this plane and the update too. It's a brilliant piece of freeware. I don't usually fly heavies, but this plane might change that.Jim

I agree, this is realy a nice product. One thing I have not been able to do is to IMPORT a FS9 flight plan into the FMC. I input the name of one of my flight pans into the "CO ROUTE" field, but am told it is not valid. Can anyone tell me how to import a flight plan? Thanks, jim

HiA great freeware aircraft.I have one question. I like handflying. Is there a way to set the VOR1 course from the 2D panel - I know how to do it from the keyboard (V1 + / -).I have been looking and looking, so far with no succes? :-hmmm Thanx in advance.RegardsHenrik KorningBGGH

Thanks for the heads-up! I've installed the patch, and will be making a test run later when I get home. The developers at I-Fly indeed deserve a HUGE award for their efforts on this amazing freeware product. They have certainly outclassed numerous payware products. Well done!!!

Can anyone tell me how to>import a flight plan?First make sure there is nothing in the scratchpad (bottom left) - if there is use successive CLR presses until it is empty. Then just type the file name without the suffix e.g. ZSHCZLXY and then hit the appropriate LSK.It also occurs to me that you have to make sure the plans are where iFly expects to find them - in the appropriate subfolder in the iFly folder.Hope this helps. Are there any more pre-prepared plans out there that I could import?Edit: Oops, after re-reading your note I see you are trying to import standard FS9 plans. Not sure if that can be done. Anyone else?--Bryn

More, on my request for a flight planning tool. I was able to input a flight plan into the IFLY FMC unit, manualy. But what I was looking for is a flight planing utility, such as FSnavigator, that could export its plan into the data base that IFLY uses. The utility could create a plan for both FS9 and IFLY, allowing one to use the ATC (IFR flight plan) that is part of FS9. For example,I see that FSNavigator can export its plans to both FS9 and PMDG 747. But is ther such a utility that can be used with IFLY 747?Thanks,jim
