For all that you are reporting the issues.

Did you do  a client only upgrade or a full reinstall?

If you did  a client upgrade only, did you delete the shader files and p3d.cfg and let the sim recreate them?

+1 here.  I got a CTD when loading the 747v3 in P3Dv4.2.

I uninstalled all of my planes in P3Dv4, did a full uninstall of P3Dv4.1, and then did a clean install of P3Dv4.2.

Also verified that the NGX, 777, and DC-6 all seem to work okay in P3Dv4.2.

Did a client and content upgrade and I deleted the shader folder and the CFG file. Like the others only problem with 747 the 777 and NGX run fine.

Client only... But since a few days my computer has brought another error.. Kernel-Processor-Power.. Guess my power supply has gone west.. it's a shame.. sigh.. but I will kick P3D off completely and restart from scratch then. too many eventualities...

For now it is not reproducable internally.

I just finished upgrading with the following way

Before uninstalling saved my graphics settings.

1) Uninstall client installed new client

2) Uninstall content, installed content

3) Deleted everything in the shader folder and prepar3d.cfg

4) Started once the Sim. Close it as soon as it started in the select scenario screen

5) Started the sim once more reloaded my settings closed it

6) Loaded it again selected the 744 and loaded ok.

Other team members has also done a full uninistall/reinstall and no issues at all.

There is a thread indicating possible FSUIPC issues. Try without FSUIPC to see if it works

I have the same issue,

Installed just the client, T7 and NGX load ok. 747 ends in a CTD after a blank screen during loading.

I'll try a repair of the 747.

Maybe its a client only install problem.

edit:

Ok tried the repair, don't get a CTD anymore but the SIM hangs trying to load the panel.

Hi,

I have a fresh OS install and all the aircraft freshly installed ie NGX 738,737 and 736, 777 all work absolutely fine, taken FSUIPC out as had issue with ORBX and it still sits on a black screen with the 747 and the sim closes.

If you load the F22 first and switch to the 744 then does it work?

Thank you, I will inform the dev team to check and see if they can find anything which point why some users are affected and other don't

Full reinstall.

I am also having the same issue.

I performed a full reinstall last night, including deleting all the AppData & ProgramData content for P3D.

The 777 & 737 work fine on 4.2, however when loading the 747 from the scenario screen, it crashes. I can however load in the 747 after loading in another non-PMDG aircraft first. I thought it might have been an FSUIPC issue, but when I deleted FSUIPC the issue still remained. This is all that loads in before it crashes: (shader issue maybe?)bW1lGiP.png

I currently have the following addons installed for reference to others who are having the same issue:

Orbx FTX Global, Europe OLC, FTX Europe | UK2000 VFR Airfields Volume 1 (EGHH Pictured Above) | ASP4 v6616 Open Beta

I realise that what I'm saying is almost identical to what has been said before, but I just thought I'd provide more evidence of my experience to help the team gauge an idea of what's going on.

Just reinstall the client and content, I can report CTD with the 747 selected!
