A New Take On the CJ2 GTN 750 Integration

Featured Replies

Hi Jevon,

Very nice to read this thread and everything you accomplished to enhance this aircraft.

And a  real pleasure working with you on a few of the enhancements; not often I give support with my xml codings to someone that clearly knows what he wants AND give such detailled and clear (problem) descriptions as you did.

Cheers, Rob

Does anyone know where I can get this MOD.  I have messaged with my email address 4 time with no answer.  It looks like a great MOD.

Nothing new to post since my last one.   No new updates either.... have not had a chance to work on the bird to much at all.   As I mentioned I have my 4 month old daughter while my wife is at work and I am usually beat by time my wife gets home at night....I'm thinking about releasing the CJ2+ first so you guys at least have something to play around with while I figure out all the things I mentioned for the CJ2.  What do you guys think?  (you all don't give very much feedback other than asking for a copy LOL)  I guess that can be considered a good thing as you are just entrusting me to do my own thing (shrug).......

Sorry, as I mentioned in the last long post.  I have not been able to respond to all the requests I get for this mod.  I have people send me their emails so I can send it to them as soon as I get it finished.  As of right now it still isn't.  I know I tend to write a lot but please take the time to read my posts as I really am trying to keep you guys as up to date as I can with it.  Thanks for your kind words.   You will definitely get a copy of the mod to the email you provided (yes I have all of them from you LOL) as soon as I think she is satisfactory.

Hi Jevon! I think that releasing the CJ2+ first would be a great idea.

Roberto

Just a quick update I'm finishing up on the install/user manual pdf for the CJ2+/GTN mod.  I do have a quick question.  How many of you plan to use the CJ2s with fspassengers?  I know I do but I feel like I may be apart of a very select few.  I ask because there is one more little feature that I'm thinking of adding that would work well with fspassengers.  Im going to add it for my birds but if you all don't use fspax then I won't worry about it.    Remember, I'm building these birds the way I originally wanted them before having no intent on sharing and this is something I've been wanting for a while....Hey @rcbarend I'm gonna need your help one more time (sorry I know I said that last time 😁)

Jevon

Hi Jevon,

Hah - your enthusiasm is contagious - thanks for the herculean efforts - it looks very  promising - I don’t use FsPassengers... Looking forward to seeing your finished work...

Scott

So looking forward to your released modifications.  No I don't use FS Passengers, but I will definitely be using her to fly with my favorite VA >>  www.flyelite.net

Thanks for the feedback guys!  I won't waste anymore time adding features then.  I'm still working on this manual and cleaning up some of the files before packaging up.  WE ARE REALLY CLOSE.  As proof here's a little snippet from the manual.........:  (copying and pasting in here jacks up the formatting so I bolded them)

**Features**

Now to the good stuff what exactly does this mod entail.  Well first thing is there will actually be two aircraft when all is said and done the, the CJ2 and CJ2+   As I’ve released the CJ2+ here, I will address what she has first with more detailed info on each to follow.  In no particular order, the CJ2+ mod you’ve received comes with the following:

·         Flight1 GTN750 integrated MFD

o   Includes Custom engine gauges with real simulated engine spool up time (she may not spool up as fast as you may be accustomed)

                 o   CJ2 integrated Checklists

o   Direct To functionality tied into CJ2 VC MFD buttons

·         Updated Nav mode to allow the GTN to work with the Carenado autopilot

·         Per Pilot observations, you will now hear the Air Conditioning System when the AC switch is placed in Auto or Fan.  Some real world pilots have                    complained about how loud it is.

·         Per Pilot observations, you can now operate and hear the windshield anti-ice bleed systems.

o   There is one for the Left and Right side

o   Just like in the real aircraft it will not work if the Bleed switch is in Off position.  Must be in either Hi or Lo position

o   Bleed air volume will increase as you open the bleed valves.  Real world pilots have complained about how loud this system is, you may too after using it!

·          3 state landing lights.  Steady, Off, or Pulsing

·         All new ice detection and anti-ice systems

o   No more needing to turn on anti-ice systems when flying in temps below -10oC

o   Ice detection system will ONLY activate “Icing” annunciator light when trace ice starts sticking to the structure.

o   Ice detection system will ONLY extinquish “Icing” annunciator light when ALL ice has been removed or it no longer detects the presence of ice

o   The ice detection system detection probe is separate from the air foils of the aircraft.   The systems sole purpose is to call to the pilots attention that the                          aircraft is in an area of icing where the ice is now sticking to the aircraft.  IT IN NO WAY MONITORS IF ICE IS OR ISN’T ON THE WINGS

o   Ice will always clear from airfoils (when anti-ice systems are on) before the Ice Detection system probe.  Therefore, if the “ICING” light extinguishes it is                           safe to assume the airfoil is clear of ice.  Vice Versa, the air foil WILL NOT ice over before the Ice detection system probe.

o   Wing/Wing and Engine anti-ice annunciators lit only when systems are in use

·         CJ2 Thrust Attenuators and all Thrust attenuator annunciation lights deactivated.

·         Increased Maximum Takeoff Weight

·         Engine static thrust bumped up to 2490lbs per engine

·         New annunciator light panel.  Featuring “Icing” light which is included in Annunciator panel self-test

·         Custom CJ2+ airfile and aircraft.cfg files.........................................

Man looking at it now it surely doesn't seem like that much LOL.......😄  Thanks for your patience guys.............you'll have her very soon!
