No, it is only designed for flying with VATSIM. but it doesn't contain any traffic files to be able to offer offline flying.

BVAI is made using freeware AI Models from many wonder guys that have taken the time to create amazing AI models for the community,

Simbol,

BVAI is NOT only useful for VATSIM, many of us are using it with PSXseecontraffic/RealTraffic, or with Lorby-Si's Live Traffic - works great! Some others have mentioned the option of using it with UTL, or MyTraffic as a substitution for their liveries. See this thread:

its all to complicated for me i want to just download it and install it.

That's true, but there has to be a reason why even commercial AI Traffic packages leave a lot to be desired. And that applies to both both XP11 and P3d4. In the real world airlines come and go. Routes change seasonally. New liveries are added.

And Then there is the problem of the inability to produce up to date, realistic AI aircraft models. If it wasn't for freeware sites like FAIB, MAIW and AIG and payware developers like FSPainter, most of the AI models would still be FS9 versions.

Hi Somiller,

I was part of the selected initial group of BETA testers for the initial versions of BVAI and as such I had (and still have) direct contact with the developers of this wonderful freeware, so you can trust me what I say that the package was designed to work with VPilot and VATSIM.

Now people are using it for other purposes as you pointed out correctly, however those applications are outside of the scope of BVAI and if anybody decide to use the AI models under those apps it is under their own risk.

Hope this helps to clarify what I intended to say on my first post :).

All the best,
S.

Symbol,

Of course you are right...I wasn't disputing the intended purpose of BVAI, only that there are alternatives for it's use "offline" of VATSIM, that don't require traffic files, which are obviously not included with BVAI. Indeed, BVAI, and vPilot AI before them did all of us a tremendous service compiling such a comprehensive set of models/liveries. I am terribly thankful BVAI has not strictly limited access to VATSIM users (although I really want to try VATSIM).

Kind Regards,

Hi! Im using FLAi and I got the operation manager and have updated it several times, im seeing the aircraft models but not the liveries any idea on how to view the liveries in game on the network? I have it sent to my FSX root folder which it directed me to.

EDIT:  I just realized @Deniston1 necro'ed this thread, and posted below before I saw that.

You can substitute your own models if you want.

Best instructions I know of are with the Fedex/UPS package that you can download here at AVSIM.   It's not as difficult as you think, to assign different aircraft to Ultimate Traffic Live.

One thing to pay attention to :

with BVAI ( I have 33 Gb ) I am getting a framerate drop over time ( 10% p/h )

with Traffic Global AI aircraft no drop

So I suspect that one or more models are causing this....

Did you narrow it down to the AI models as the cause?  I admit I didn't fully keep up with your thread.

Gerard, just a suggestion - have you used the NexusMods/Skyrim texture re-size tool on your BVAI models discussed here?
https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/455265-vas-oom-and-textures/?page=1

After running the tool twice on the AI textures, my FLAi folder is 3Gb. Maybe a smaller texture file size per model will help you reduce the demand on your computer's resources and maybe slow / stop the 10% FPS drop?

Let us know if you do and whether you see any benefit or not, please.
