June 8, 20187 yr Stars down to magnitude 12?? I assume that this addon is not supposed to be realistic? Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
June 8, 20187 yr For me, you would never have that amount of stars visible above a city like that, due to light pollution etc. AMD Ryzen 5900X - Asus Crosshair VI Hero - G.Skill 32GB (2x16GB) 3000 C14 DDR4 @ 3600 14-14-15-14-28-42 AMD Red Devil Radeon 6900XT 2700/2112 1125mv - 3 x Iiyama G-Master GB2888UHSU 4k @ 11560x2160 Saitek X-55 Rhino - Track IR5 - Obutto Sim Cockpit + Triple Monitor Stand - Fancy some Techno? https://www.mixcloud.com/dj_bully/

The brightness of the stars is much lower than in reality. It also depends on where you are in the world. Therefore multiple magnitudes so you can set it to your preference. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
June 8, 20187 yr indeed Panos all stars will be perceived as white :) we have tested high fidelity color variation and found sticking with white tones is proper for IRL visuals, we may revisit that when HDR becomes bit more mainstream down the road we will be able to properly represent higher fidelity colors (atm its pointless 😞), just a note as i read some of the comments in regards to pollution and visibility, that is true; pollution blocks visibility at night, usually if one travels to natural open spaces like the desert; you will see allot more stars than if you were in the middle of a dense metro area, nonetheless these stars are there still; we just dont see them easily, this all changes once we take off above the cloud overcast, we leave pollution behind as it no longer applies when the surface below is reflecting white and the sky above are pitch black; these stars shine like diamonds in the sky, views from up there are not the same views we perceive from the ground, one can for most parts replicate pollution as well; running a lower density stars DB, or adding volumetric fog to further enhance ambiance, one can set any level he see fit from 7- 12Mag, personally i find 12 stunning regardless of fidelity, if high fidelity is key; arming Mag 9-10 DB will get you there, Edited June 8, 20187 yr by Chris Bell
June 8, 20187 yr Went straightaway to the shop. But it seems, that you can only buy Stargazer, if you add product support for 2 years and it renews at $2.99 per year? It is not possible to remove this additional service. Testet with Chrome and IE. So I decided not to order Stargaze - sorry. Or have I done something wrong? Kurt
June 8, 20187 yr Thank you Kurt, this is hardly the place to discuss this matter! please visit our forums or pm me directly with any questions you may have, the auto renewal is just how the eCommerce we use works, it is not mandatory to renew and can be switched off in your account settings! if you look closer support is discounted for two years over 200% for support and update contract! we locked this for our customers convenient; many overlooked this and later regretted not adding during checkout! in the near future an update to our current manager will show a "live update option" with daily calculated stars position; our customers can update their DB's daily or when pleased, Edited June 8, 20187 yr by Chris Bell
June 8, 20187 yr Chris, I'd like to let you know that I also decided not to order Stargazer based on the support being unavoidably added at checkout. I can live without it, at 20% of the product's price, but without the option to drop it I was persuaded not to purchase. Product looks great, but I was a bit on the fence because I wasn't sure the (relatively) slight difference in night visuals was worth it to me personally. The mandatory support surcharge just pushed me over the edge. Just more feedback from a potential customer for your awareness. Keep up the great development work you're doing and best of luck. James
