Prepayments might sound like a good idea, but ask a certain other developer if it was such a great idea to take prepayments for their King Air product... 😊

Yes, there are both risks and advantages with using prepayment. And I understand and respect whatever decisions a company makes. It is not always easy to make decisions. But Mr Randazzo gave a good explanation and reason, so I respect that 🙂

Well, in Scandinavian manner I will introduce a new subject to you, called logic. As Mr Randazzo mentioned in his post there has been problems before, and since I am an old customer, I have had experience with those problems. So my suggestions had a historical background. There was a logical reason for my suggestion. Furthermore, nowhere in my post did I even hint about asking for a release date. I know PMDG manner in that question since I have been a customer here since old 747 was released. In other words, there was no logical reason for your statements. Think about that.

Scandinavians being blunt and logical?

...and confused about people being confused about them being blunt and logical?

Yeah, I'm with Raymond.

I try really hard not to be the first one to buy a new PMDG release.  😎

Even if you don't go outside (which I enjoy, though not as much in peak summer in DC), fire up DCS and blow stuff up or something 😂

(That's usually what I do. It's not even fair. Load up an 18 with a bunch of 7Ms and 9s, set up a bunch of bombers with no escort, and just fly up and pick them off...)

I got DCS recently and currently trying to figure out my controller scheme. Right now I keep pressing fsx hotkeys because I forget im in another sim!🤣

What if every eager customer starts the prepayments on Monday and clogging the servers? You're back to square one. Maybe PMDG can have a prepayment to the prepayment on a Saturday for example, oh wait, that wouldn't work because every eager customer would prepay on Saturday as well. Doesn't start to sound logical anymore, huh?

I guess you will have to wait like everyone else, nothing illogical about that. Think about it.

No, I don't feel I'm better than anybody. In fact, I'm a nobody who knows nothing but loves this hobby as much as the next guy.

Payments require very little effort from the servers and network. A small server with normal connection can easily handle several thousands of payments with ease (unless the programmer is very bad). Downloads however is not an easy task.

I think he's just making his opinion clear, that's all. He's been pretty even-keeled about expressing it, so I don't think there's any need to take shots at him.

We could discuss a demo version... or an MD-11... or a 767... damn it‘s 37C, I‘m melting... xD as long as this forum still has some threads with a good atmosphere I‘m fine with every new proposal xD

Now you are arguing against your own suggestion to take prepayments. As you now say, purchasing isn’t the issue, it’s downloads. Prepayment can’t improve the download bottleneck.
