Premier Aircraft Design website

Featured Replies

Boy , I hate to be critical - but I don't think I have ever come across such a confusing and difficult to figure out website. It's a great shame really because they produce some wonderful a/c - but I am absolutely sure that they must frighten many people away.Barry

I agree with your thoughts concerning their site. The aircraft, at least in my opinion, aren't worth the hassle of navigating and downloading from their site. I think they could make it much more user friendly.Bob

Agreed. I like their aircraft but their site is very confusing.

I must be visiting a different website. I had no trouble navigating the website and downloading several Dash8s and CRJs :)But then again, I remember the old days of FS Addon websites. They weren't so different. Gary Smith's used to look very similar.

Well, Barry, Barry Blaisdell and company have been doing FS aircraft for a long, long time, and for free. Yes, they ask for "donations", but...;-)Perhaps they just spend more of their time on the free aircraft as opposed to the web site?I guess you figure that the aircraft should be free, and the web site should be top notch-professional in appearance and easy to navigate also?Frankly I find the web site rather quaint, and do not mind navigating it.Good folks there, real good; so why complain about the site? So, it might take you a little time to navigate, but how much are you paying for the airplane? My partners and I just paid $4000+ for an annual inspection and repairs for our Piper Dakota, and the facility we use does not even have a web site! ;-)Flames expected, but since I have known Barry Blaisdell for so many years, I will take them on his and his team's behalf.I hope he NEVER reads this thread.Regards,Lou

I agree i didnt find it hard to navigate. And i agree with DreamFleet the files are free why complain?

I visited the site, and it seemed pretty normal to me ..... !

Aren't their files also always uploaded to the Avsim library? Still, nice of our OP to offer to redesign it for them for free, I thought... ;-) :-lol Allcott

First of allIts a web site, period!Im not trying to start something here but Premiers hard work is FREE! I have to ask if you and other who have a web site isue have any idea how much time goes into designing in detail these aircraft.Hundred, sometime upwards of a thousand+ go into creating something for you to have for FREE. you may love them or they might not be your thing. That is your opinion.I personally have no problem with the site, lots of twists and turns but what the heck, lots to look at.I find the aircraft to be fine pieces of workmanship.I think that out of respect a email of concern should have been sent to Premier with a concern isue before posting.Sometimes when things get posted, it unintentionally becomes something to bash. This is just my opinion,I do not intentionally wish to offend anyone.Al Sibley http://www.flightontario.com/images/sig_asibley.gif

Lou, I totally agree with you.-Howard

Atleast its a freeware site. But have you tried the Project Magenta forum? Don't get me wrong.. I loike Project Magenta products. I have their GA IFR Panel.ROFLMAO... But its one of the worst forum format IMO. They are a payware vendor to boot. You need a Phd or an "insider" to go through that forum. Its like the old Lotus 123 command line format.. or a mainframe character based screens..where once you know the tricks of the trade you have this "in the know" but for anyone else there is a barrier to entry. Similar to people from the legacy world of the mainframe who were familiar with Character based cryptic commands and their disdain for "dumbed down" windows people. Its like... if you go away from the standard, then the benefit needs to outweign the problems of it being non standard.I remember once renting a GM car from AVIS where they had the handle to pop open the trunk inside the glove compartment. Must be Einsteins working at GM.Just my opinion.:)Manny

Their planes are some of the best around, and probably as good as and at times better than the best payware creations. One thing I do not like is that they keep turning out the same types again and again--a case similar and analogous to the poet Walt Whitman when famous critics often said "he thinks the whole world is a blade of grass" in connection to his poems. (I have a literary background). That said, they make the best of the types they deal with, and they are to be supported and commended and I always vote for them in the contests. And the people are nice guys...

In case they do read this, one good thing has certainly come from this thread in that I have been introduced to their aircraft. I really like the looks of them and I'm pretty excited about really giving them a work out.If the developers do feel that the site could stand a redesign (I got around it easily enough), I would be more than happy to repay them for their work on the aircraft by constructing a new look to the site. Thanks,Brian

I don't get it??!!! "The website is bad and the planes aren't worth the hassle?" Geez!!! You go to the site...Press tabs that describe what the aircraft are and what sim they are for...then they show how to install it. You click on it...see a cute picture of the plane and panel... go "aawww...Ain't that cute?"....click on it. down load it...Decompress...follow a few instructions loading it into your aircraft folder...open flight sim.. get a whole plane and preety neat panel...Go,"aawwww...ain't that cute""" and fly a regional hop to Chicago, looking good all the way. Oh!!! IT'S FREE!!!!!I'm going on the side of those who are thankful for those who give us their time and effort, however small or large to make or hobby enjoyable. I don't care what the website looks like. I have a real hard time with Overland's website. Talk about Navigation problems> But I got a great plane. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get the FEDEX texture to work in the configuration. It's not hard to use the site and as websites go, I think it's far, far better than I can do myself.everybody who defends the site Thank you. Thaose who are upset with it ...Opinions noted. Best regardsJan1,KINDWhen I push the button and it works, I'm happy:-)
