August 11, 200619 yr I saw a couple of interesting things at night: the milky way, and flourescent algae!

I guess somehow FSUIPC works with FS>X demo... :)No, FSUIPC will not work with the FSX Demo, nor will any add-on packages that depend on FSUIPC. Pete Dawson will be releasing a new version specifically recoded for FSX. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
August 11, 200619 yr I wouldnt worry about him. He talks like a spoilt child. Maybe just a forum TROLL :)
August 11, 200619 yr Everything is OK, but for unknown reason, the Beaver (seaplane) dosn'tstart moving ,even with full throttle applied. Is something special about this plane.Thanks.Adam

August 11, 200619 yr I don't know if you guys have noticed this but the people running med range machines are pulling almost the same fps as the guys running high end machines. It makes me wonder if FSX is actually 2 years too early for the hardware currently on the market.
August 11, 200619 yr Hey I also tried taking off with the Beaver from a land airport.I was on full throttle, and the plane moved about 1m after 30 seconds. Clearly I was not going to achieve take off velocity. In the end it occurred to me, that as this was a seaplane, I was never going to take off from tarmac.BTW: You can laught at me if you want, I won't be offended.
August 11, 200619 yr >Ok, if you were on the land when you tried to move (in a>seaplane!), I'm going to be forced to laugh very hard at you>:)As I recall, there are small wheels inside the floats.Anyway, how to position it on the water.
August 11, 200619 yr Don't know about the wheels but you can change airports and look for a seaport or take off in another plane and switch to the beaver in mid-air.Ian.
August 11, 200619 yr I'm actually surprised - runs better than I thought it would with my current modest h/w. Seeing a number of issues mentioned already re 3d cockpit and other textures textures, and autogen seems to be the main fps killer. Otherwise it's very flyable at pretty high settings.I wonder though if the finished product will enable me to land my PMDG 744 from the VC at a major airport full of AI as I can now.I think this sim will be the usual major tweakfest for many of us. I doubt ACES can account for all the stuff we'll 'need' to add :)regards,MarkXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1024mb/X700pro256 Regards, Mark
August 11, 200619 yr A few observations on the posts here:1) Slew the seaplane to water for now... I'm sure that the gear will be straightened out shortly.2) The software is indeed ahead of the hardware. We've all become so used to the graphics hardware being light years beyond the software that it's catching many of us by surprise that even the highest end cards can't handle all that this program has to offer. It was written for DX10, which no hardware can handle *yet*... but those cards are coming soon.3) For those two (or was it only one?) who think that this sneak peek of a work in progress is "junk" that's been "poxy'd" together: I hear tell that MS has graciously offered you a FULL REFUND of the MSRP and you even get to keep the program too! What an incredibly generous settlement!Your check for nothing will be in the mail shortly. Scott / Vorlin
