May 29, 20197 yr I can run the 9900K @5.2Ghz without getting overly aggressive with the overclocking so I tend to agree with those in JTC's way of thinking. I9 12900K @5.2Ghz 64 GB DDR4, RTX 4090, Win 11 Pro, 15 TB on 5 SSD's

Agree, its like the 4770k-4790k, 6700K-7700K, 8700k-8086k, 9900K-9900KF its a pattern if you find or lucky with the lottery the first cpu have the same OC potential. look at this from Silicon lottery they sell prebinned 9900k and 9900KF big difference? i https://siliconlottery.com/collections/all http://

May 30, 20197 yr Westman, those are Intel's stock speeds. It is trivial to lightly overclock the 9900k by syncing the cores, setting the BClock ratio to 52 and adjusting the Voltage if needed. I am still running stock voltage. You do have to provide ample cooling and a good VRM solution on the motherboard. The 9900K has been a hard sell at around $450-500 and maybe with the KS out, the K will drop in price. Intel is more interested these days in server CPUs, so AMD looks like a better option going forward.
October 7, 20196 yr Well at newegg.ca I9 9900ks is priced at $855 plus tax ahhhhhh no thanks i think I’ll get the KF thoughts between the K and KF guys ? trying to get a RO stepping

The 9900ks hasn't officially launched yet. What you see there is called a "placeholder" price. 9900ks should be out soon, you've waited this long, might as well wait a few more days to make sure you're getting the CPU you want.

I doubt it very much that it’ll be the same price as the k or KF i think it will be 600 US dollars at release.
