July 19, 20196 yr Hi! I consider saving some SSD space on my PC. Can I remove all std. A/C in P3Dv4.5 HF without destroying my P3D? I never use standard A/C. Grateful for some good advise. Informal Ken Wennerholm UTC +2 ESSA
July 19, 20196 yr I remember reading here that add-on aircraft will sometimes use libraries/routines/textures etc. from the defualt aircraft. Deleting them might cause unexpected failures in other products. I might be wrong overall, and it might not apply to your add-ons, but be cautious. Scott Scott Easley

July 19, 20196 yr As Scott already pointed out... do not delete them. They don't take that much space compared to the rest of the sim. For those who want to fly P3D/FSX without the default AC, simply rename all the panel.cfg files to panel_cfg for example. This way, P3D/FSX will not show these planes in your list. You can do this very quickly by using the search option in your File Explorer (Windows Explorer) and then rename all the panel.cfg files at once by selecting them all together and press F2. Watch out that you do not rename the panel.cfg of the default Raptor. It is still recommended to start the sim with 1 default plane before switching over to let's say AS or PMDG planes. Regards. Regards, Vital Vanbeginne
July 19, 20196 yr I created a new subfolder in the simobjects/airplane folder named 'LM Hangar' and moved all default airplanes there. This doesn't save any space but it shortens the list of vehicles to just those I use. Dan Downs KCRP
July 19, 20196 yr To shorten the list of vehicles, there is also the 'favorites' function (yellow star icon) and filter...to display only your favorites planes. July 19, 20196 yr Author Thanks all for good advice! I will leave my sim as it was created by God. Edited July 19, 20196 yr by Wennerholm Informal Ken Wennerholm UTC +2 ESSA
July 19, 20196 yr You can actually move whatever you like to a magnetic HD and then create a symbolic link if you are interested in downloading stuff off your SSD. Edited July 19, 20196 yr by ha5mvo
July 20, 20196 yr There is no issue deleting them. I deleted them all other than the F-22 so I had a default to load. Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers

July 20, 20196 yr I moved all but the F22 to a folder outside P3D.(No symbolic link) I fly PMDG and FSL and no problems what so ever. AMD 7 7700X, 32GB DDR5, RTX 5060ti 16GB, 2 x Samsung 1TB NVMe, 1 x 4TB sata SSD, Windows 11 Prof

It's more likely issues will arise with simpler panels that may "borrow" default gauges. Less of a problem with FSL or PMDG class addons that won't use the default stuff
July 20, 20196 yr Author I use PMDG B748, FSL A319, Vertex DA62, A2A Bonanza v-tail, Fly The Maddog MD 82, VRS F/A-18E, JustFlight Avro Vulcan and Milviz new T-38C. Maybe my fleet can fly without support from std. P3D A/C... Edited July 20, 20196 yr by Wennerholm Informal Ken Wennerholm UTC +2 ESSA
